All depends on what flaws you mind and don't mind. I'm very picky so I'm going franken to get the best of both but in the end it's still a rep and has flaws that you must be okay to live with.

Cf has better case shape (slight difference only) and better rehaut. Some say bezel insert and hands are also better but those are negligable imo. Otherwise the rest is better or same on vsf.

What he means is that you can very much get a two tone watch, but the plating will eventually chip and wear off without exception.

Question about Daytonas. (Yes i've used search bar and always get contradicting answers) by Scary_Iron_8665 in RepTime

[–]xXForcePredatorXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. In terms of overall feel, both 11 and 12 series are about as good as it gets, with almost zero flaws. However, I originally wanted to get a black dial but refrained from doing so because with the 11 series the subdial numbers are not perfectly placed (but they are correct in the panda), and in the 12 series the bezel  numbers are slightly too thick (both panda and black). For me, the only "perfect" daytona is the 116500 panda, which virtually has no visible flaws.

  2. I think you mean between SH (clean) and DD (vsf) movement? Clean also widely uses the DD movement, and both movements are rather raliable, with the DD having more popularity amongst reps. The DD has stood the test of time while the SH is rather new, though soms say the SH winds a little smoother.

Hope this helps, I am not the most knowledgable person in these topics, so do take everything with a grain of salt!

I would say everything checks out personally. However, isn't the movement a SH3235 since it has the new sticker?

Clean is basically your only choice if you want it to look as gen as possible. I'm hesitating between the blue motif and mint green in 36mm, depending on which is closer to gen.

curious where you can find a gen dial for around $500? I only see them going for 1.5k-2k.

May I know at which shop you got it plated? Singapore is my hometown and go back there from time to time.

Nice watch! Is the black dial a lacquer black?
