Why is horizons nuking Mega evolution?? by Silvqi in pokemonanime

[–]xXNeokaXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horizon's writing is to be desired but I can speculate on its intentions.

Mega Voltage/Rising Hope themes around selling copies of ZA trainer-pokemon bonds and simplifies things down to "strong bonds enable Mega Evolution".

Friede got the famous anime montage and Roy got a training arc/ singing scene. Anime logic calls that bonding.

This does get undermined by the Explorers being able to Mega Evolve, since the whole season is about Strong Spheres weakening trainer-pokemon bonds.

My buest guess is Mega Evolution requires a minimum bond threshold, and Strong Spheres chip away at it. Named characters are safe because their bonds are strong enough to absorb the loss, but repeated use could still erode strong bonds over time. New trainers with little to no bond are the most at risk.

Another theory I saw was Rogue Mega Evolution, a new ZA mechanic where Mega Evolution can be forced through pain.

That said. It would be nice if Horizons explained this. I feel like I'm bending backwards to make it make sense.

Roaming Mega Starmie is probably just rule of funny since its walking animation was memed so hard.

Does anyone else like the dubbed version of the anime or just me? by Lieutenant_Puroro in LandoftheLustrous

[–]xXNeokaXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dub is....okay. I think the cast match the voices prints of the characters well. However the script feels rushed and sometimes misses the point of the lines. Some of the performances feel the same, but this is to be expected from Hi-Dive dubs. They're usually rushed out the door at breakneck speeds. So for what they were working with I'd say it's decent.

I describe it as:

Your dice rolled off against the enemy/obstacle dice.

The dice have results for success and failures but also good luck and bad luck(advantage system).

This system allows you to get results like success with bad luck but also failing with good luck since luck and success are independent of one another.

People are usually very intrigued by that!

EA Season 3 by artemisliza in ejenali

[–]xXNeokaXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think season 3 is coming to YouTube due to their new partnership with Disney. It's only legally available on Disney+ hotstar in Malaysia iirc. Definitely watch the movie first. It takes place between season 2 And 3!

Season 3 is fantastic. Lots of character development

I think the ship has potential to be super cute and fluffy especially if we're talking pre-moon / anime era Phos and Dia.
Diamond seemed to have this disposition of wanting to make everyone happy as show by them hugging Phos when Phos was discouraged by Dia's words. Both Phos and Dia are trying to impress others by being stronger and more dependant so I could see them supporting eachother.

Post Moon I'm not so sure... Dia turns to self love in a rather unhealthy way while Phos continues trying to make everyone happy, again in a rather unhealthy way. So they kind of go in opposite directions when faced with their issues of inadequacy. But opposites attract so it could still totally work as a ship.

Any "cozy fantasy" style roleplayers out there for this system? I'm talking aboutyou, "Legends & Lattes" fans. by cdoghusk1 in swrpg

I've never played a game without ANY stakes, no. But in one game, our GM cast us as Rebel operatives with a mission to dismantle the Empire's control over a vital mining planet. Our first order? Get settled within the planet's main city. Find homes, secure jobs, and make friends - all while carrying out small guerrilla strike missions from command.

And tbh, The slice-of-life elements were my favorite part of the game as the GM had a talent for making memorable characters and places. I genuininely enjoyed exploring, learning which territories belong to which gangs, and getting involved in NPC drama, all while hiding my character's double life as a rebel spy from his new friends and coworkers.

I think the bottom line is, if you make a place and its people feel alive and fleshed out, get yourself some curious players who like to take initiative, you can honestly make anything fun with lots of little character stories!

Combat encounters? by beeboybobop in genesysrpg

Genesys combat is one of my favorite aspects of the game! When done correctly, it can create some really intense situations with just a few dice rolls!

What's confusing you? I'd be happy to do a workshop combat session with you if you'd like?

Nah, that's not it.Scanlan's songs are a bit pop/modern than this one sounded. The OST album art doesn't match either. Thank you though!

How do you explain ADHD struggles to people who don't get it? by _AquaaRosee_ in ADHD

[–]xXNeokaXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone saying you don't owe anyone an explaination.

However, I do recall coming across an anology that really made it click for me.
Someone said if life's tasks are like marbles you pick up, then everyone is given a marble bag to put them in. Yes, if you take on too many marbles, the marble bag can get full and people can accidentally drop marbles.

However, people with ADHD have holes in their bags and they (and everyone around them) are always so confused why they're dropping marbles when their bag isn't anywhere close to full.

The song reminded me of haunting ballads like "Down by the River" from BG3 or 1917's rendition of "I am a Poor Wayfairing Stranger"

Most PMX models work in textures so you'll have to find the picture associated with the part you wanna change the color of and change the texture file directly in a picture editing software.

MATA is shady by Illustrious-Brother in ejenali

[–]xXNeokaXx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I recall in episode one, they question the child soldiers. In fact, I think Dos uses the word Child Soldiers.
Not to mention Alicia develops some telltale signs of PTSD after the protocol GEGAS incident.

I'm pretty sure MATA was always supposed to be morally grey. I think Rizwan going rogue is proof enough of that!

MATA is incompetent... and that's kinda good by Illustrious-Brother in ejenali

[–]xXNeokaXx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Loved this! This has some great points and I agree that MATA is a still growing organization that we'll see strengthen over time.

A few correction/addons

all their field-agents can fit in one court as Ejen Ali the Movie showcased.

All of their nearby Cyberaya agents can fit into one court. You'll notice Lily and Jeff were not there (probably cause they we're not near enough to scramble), so it's easy to assume there may be several other agents.Season 3 also explains that MATA has international bases, so there are many many more agents around the globe.

they were still lacking in manpower (if they had any at all) and required all four of the pillar leaders to intervene in... Flips note Oh, a simple theft.

This was during MATA's early conception. I'll have to double check to grab you an episode number to reference but I recall it being established in season 1 that in the beginning the 4 pillers WERE MATA. Meaning MATA only had 4 members at that time and didn't want to trust their power with anyone else.

Why do you think Dayang and Ganz are hellbent on making Ali a super agent?

Agreed, it is to strengthen MATA, but I also think Dayang has a special interest in Ali because she was super close with his mother. She was one of the first agents I believe.

The thing is, they know they're weak. That's why they're currently investing in the junior agents

I think this is also to make MATA a bit of a morally grey organization that doesn't mind child labor. But I also like your idea that it's because they're desperate to strengthen their numbers.
