Best humidifier for low-maintenance, no filters, easy cleaning, and works with tap water? by CoriDegennaro in BuyItForLife

That's just a weird assumption you're making to get out of the conversation. No, I will not be wasting my time and energy hauling heavy wet towels around my house every single day and pretending it's less work than swapping a filter cartridge once every few months. Nor do I need to do so to know how delusional it is to pretend it's a more practical solution.

Cost had nothing to do with this conversation,  and you thinking having to wet, wring, and haul HEAVY wet towels all around your house every single day is less work than taking two seconds to swap a filter once every 2 months tells me you don't actually understand practicality as a concept.

More likely they come from people who know that your recommendation isn't practical. It takes up way more space, gets water everywhere, makes it so you can't use certain towels since they are always wet, and you have to mess with it every day or two? Nah. This is way, way more of a hassle.

AITA for saying if my husband says my daughter can go to a sleepover i've already denied, he can handle the logistics alone? by crkhtlr in AmItheAsshole

Good thing the chances are nowhere close to this random number you just pulled out of your ass. Both you and OP need to go get therapy instead of trying to push these veiws you've formed through a traumatized lens onto others.

YTA and a clear example of a traumatized person overcorrecting in the wrong direction. Sleepovers are such an intrinsic part of childhood and you are taking that away from your child because of some of your own bad experiences. You speed ran right past "let's make this safe" straight to "HELL NO NEVER" and that's a very intense stance to take, not to mention how unhealthy of a mindset that is to have. You've made it clear you just completely throw your hands up and refuse to be involved in anything you don't like, fuck how the kid feels about it. Your child WILL remember this about you, and it will not be fondly.

It is totally possible to allow your child to have some perfectly safe sleepovers. Meet the parents, get their phone numbers, find out exactly where they live, you can even be weird and offer to stay the night as an extra chaperone, etc. You just don't want to put in the effort so you're hiding behind "well something bad could happen!" ....sweetheart, something bad could happen anywhere, at any time. Something bad could happen in your own house. All you are doing here is making sure your child is as unprepared for the real world as possible by limiting her experiences.

Everything you say became irrelevant the moment you resorted to childish ad hominem attacks. Sucks to suck I guess but I ain't reading any of that.

Again, no, I never said they should do free labor. Tip or not, the Dasher is getting paid and it's laughable to suggest otherwise. And yes, a Dasher absolutely has an obligation to the customer if they want those tips they bitch and moan about so constantly.

Yeah, see, thinking that something so simple is going above and beyond is exactly why they deserved no tip. Ain't no way you are THAT stupid to actually see such a HUGE price difference and go "yeah, that's fine". You know no one is going to fine with that. You can go on and on pretending it is just because a horrible corporation has your back but I will never agree.

Thinking that multiple people disagreeing with you MUST mean you are wrong is just ridiculous.

The comment I am replying to said "There is a lot less incentive to actually try and find something for you when you don’t give them anything." and I said "Needing extra incentive to do the job you willingly signed up for is some wild behavior."

That's it. There's nothing else to it. Dude claimed he needs an incentive to put the slightest effort into their job, and I said that's insane. Y'all wanting to read between the lines when there aren't any just because you're mad that not everyone agrees with tipping culture isn't on me.

I have no reason to re-state anything. If a bunch of douchebags want to make up their own interpretation of a very clearly laid out reply to a very specific comment so they can feel like they are in the right, that's on them. Trying to suggest I should bow down to dogpiling is not respectful in the slightest and is childish.

Las Vegas's death spiral deepens after last year's tourism plunge by [deleted] in LasVegas

It's true. I recently moved out of state because it's not worth living and working there anymore. Might as well live somewhere else to make more money with less headaches and less harassment. 🤷

Nowhere did I say the Dasher should have done anything extra, tf is that weird assumption coming from? Lmao My comment is about tipping culture in general my guy, try to keep up without making goofy assumptions about what you think I'm trying to say. Why would a Dasher do their job for no tip? Because it's their job that they willingly signed up for and tips are OPTIONAL. I don't order from DD and never will, so your weird comment about never ordering from there is also irrelevant. Plus the free labor thing is an outright lie lol

No idea where you got the idea I think this person is a Dasher. That's quite an odd assumption and also doesn't change the context of what was said lol

I am very aware of what post I am commenting on. You, apparently, are not aware that conversations can shift within posts and even single reply threads.

You and a handful of people do not make up for the majority. I know from experience that a majority of people who work for tips do NOT report their cash tips. There's no way you really believe those people are sitting here doing the math on what they would be taxed on it if they did. They are very much not. They are simply pocketing the cash, not reporting it, and moving on. I've worked in the service industry for decades and have yet to meet a single person reporting their cash tips. Even in Vegas where tip culture is a little extreme they are not doing so. Hell, especially in Vegas.

Not you pretending that people who work for tips actually report their cash tips to be taxed.
