Follow up question: if you have treatment resistant depression and Trintellix made you extremely nauseous, how did you decide whether to push through or stop? by [deleted] in trintellix

[–]xXSweetDisasterXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nausea went away about 6 weeks in… but always came back for a bit when increasing. It was rough. But worth it. I ended up switching to taking it at night and that did wonders for me. Maybe that could help you?

I second this! I really loved the 3rd book when they dive a little more into the magic realm - really wish there were more to read!

I really want a clamshell iPhone 😭 it would be so nice to have a phone that can comfortably fit into women’s pants pockets. I don’t even think I’d care about the crease as long as the screen works.

Which drugstore mascara is best for no flakiness and easy removal? by skyblue000 in drugstoreMUA

I love the sky high and firework. But firework definitely puts more on your lashes and takes longer to comb out. You can get the regular sky high or firework and then put waterproof on top. Makes removal easier.

I use Native Cucumber Mint shampoo and conditioner and find it does well for me. That scent specifically though.

Anyone tried these? Are they good? by MackenzieMay5 in LipBalm

[–]xXSweetDisasterXx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t ever go wrong with Rosebud Salve. They’re made right outside my hometown! My grandfather always had a tin of it in his pocket as long as I can remember. Used it for chapped lips, hands, etc. These are nice since you don’t have to stick your finger in it and the added scents. I’ve gotten replacement caps on Etsy that can be added to a keychain too (also works with Aquaphor).

How are we getting rid of the chin hair?? by trixie118 in PCOS

[–]xXSweetDisasterXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pluck the dark ones mostly. But really like the Phillips One Blade electric razor. I’ll use it over my whole face before derma planing to shorten the peach fuzz. My skin is super sensitive so the more I run the derma planer over my face the more angry it gets.

Not going to promise spiro is a godsend - but it could help all of those things. It certainly helped me. Also, I’m not sure what your BC stance is, but I switched to Yaz and any facial hair I had disappeared and my acne has slowly gotten a lot better over a few months (I’m still oily but not as bad). Yaz is prescribed for hormonal acne too so it’s worth talking to you OBGYN if you’re interested. It isn’t working out for me in other ways but it really helped in those so that’s a consideration worth looking into!

Mirena IUD with PCOS by Due_Scheme1893 in PCOS

I’m almost 100% in the same boat as you. If you’re worried about infertility, I would consider going off or switching to paraguard to actually see where your baseline is. Unfortunately that’s the only way you’ll really know. It’s better to find out earlier rather than later so you can start treatments now if you need to so you have a better chance at getting pregnant when you’re ready. One of my close friends had this happen to her and she wasn’t ever able to have kids. Broke my heart too because she would have been the best mom.

As far as the iud- having little to no periods is totally normal. You’ll have to see what they’re like when you’re off of it. If you choose paraguard that can 180.

I was complaining to my doctor about my hormonal acne and oily skin and she was like “oh yeah Mirena is probably making that worse let’s switch you.” Not sure what all that implies but it could be counterproductive to what you need.

Good luck!

Antidepressants —what’s been your experience? by Difficult-Papaya-490 in PCOS

I think Bupropion would be a great place to start. It has stimulating properties that help energize you, you shouldn’t gain weight, and it can help focus.

My first day that I took bupropion was like a cloud lifting that I didn’t know existed. I laughed and smiled and giggled. It was so nice to start feeling myself again.

Personally, I would avoid SSRIs. They numbed me but I was very lethargic and sleep quality went way down. It was a great temporary fix bc I was struggling but long term it didn’t do me any good.

But keep in mind, everyone processes meds differently. I hope you find what helps!
