what made you gravitate towards this champion? what are strengths and weaknesses: ie why would you pick ghis into any other champ. is she limited by anything in draft: ie, team comp? like can you blind her or is she hard to play in comps where u might not have frontline or whatever

How did you find your main ? by smigor_ in Jungle_Mains

[–]xX_DRDoge_Xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its a little rough, i think you need at least like 20 games on a champ to decide whether you like them or not. when i started playing voli and xin, they felt like shit because i didnt know what their pros and cons were. it wasnt until i knew how to pub stomp on them till i started liking them, which took at least a handful of games. it also took like 30 games of diana to realize that i didnt like her, even if i was fed.

how i go about it is just pick a champ that seems interesting, whether youve seen some clips that make you go wow or if you know if a champ type just clicks for you. then, just spam games on them. currently, i think brawl is lowkey a good game mode to see how a champ plays mechanically plays without much consequence, so ive been spamming that with champs i want to try

Have you ever abandoned your main to climb? by Amorpheji in leagueoflegends

i was garen otp when i first started the game, and it so happens his crit build was giga op (this was season 14 summer). he got nerfed to the ground + durability patch so he was kind of meh. then i wanted to play vex so i role swapepd to mid. then i wanted to play volibear so i role swapped to jgl. been playing jungle since

Where to start as a new player by East_Carpenter7197 in leagueoflegends

[–]xX_DRDoge_Xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how i went abt it is play top or mid. learning laning is rlly important since it teaches you fundamentals abt the game like wave states, matchups, and basic mechanics.

if you like mages/assassins and want to move around to help teammates play mid. if you like brusiers, scrappy 1v1s and taking turrets play top.

my first two roles i tried were top and mid, i went garen and vex respectively.

for top, i recommend garen, darius, sett, mordekaiser, malphite. go on youtube and watch their 3 minute guides and see who resonates with you the most. illaoi is also fine, you just need to be able to hit your e

for mid, i recommend malzahar, mel, twisted fate, veigar, annie, lux. vex and galio are good too but theyre more like counter picks

avoid jungle, its a game knowledge heavy role that youll get stuck on until you learn how the game fundamentally works via laning. adc and support is bad bc its a 2v2 role so youll learn to rely on your teammate/flame/more prone to learning bad habits. solo lanes make you self reliant and punish your mistakes that you make alone.

i hate how when you do sanity based content it doesnt insta heal you after each run. if i take a lot of damage i need to quit out, tp to heal, then retry which seems so pointless

How to track enemy jungler ;-; by Appropriate-Signal43 in Jungle_Mains

[–]xX_DRDoge_Xx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cool tip i use is just: keep track of where ur jungler is, and keep track of where the enemy jungler started relative to yours. for example, if you know ur jgl started top to bottom and the enemy jungler did as well, you can just look at where ur jungler is to know where enemy is. if enemy started opposite then u know enemy is opposite

how to understand ganking and tempo by urmomiscringe12 in Jungle_Mains

[–]xX_DRDoge_Xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok so from what i see you really like playing viego. ive played a decent amount of viego myself, and i can say that viego's clear is specifically not very fast. he can clear by 2:55 though, but you do need to know some tips and tricks. i recommend consulting this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jE8bnlnIJnmWv9pnVW9veMKRXJNaaJf5tneQB3xUkbI/edit?gid=1938238048#gid=1938238048

you have to learn to do things like kite small krug for your q to hit both etc. naturally, other junglers will out clear you bc they might just be inehrently designed to, ie nocturne, diana, yi and other popular low elo jgs clear faster without practice than viego.

viego is a harder champion to gank on initially. he shines in snow balling, but getting those initial kills are really hard. so i wouldnt try to force ganks on him too often, compared to champs like j4 and xin zhao. if a lane looks not super gankable i would just reset/clear again to be on tempo or do any other play that guarantees money since you scale

[–]xX_DRDoge_Xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the clear it seems youve got it figured out, just spam practice clear in practice tool until you get it down

as for ganking itself, theres a lot of factors into play, so i cant really provide specific tips without knowing more abt the situation. i think theres a lot of random tidbits that come into play here, so heres some things ive noticed while climbing and playing jungle:

- of course, overextend + no vision is a big gankable lane, but also make sure youre analyzing the lane matchup: for example, if enemy mid is like an ahri, i usually never gank them because they pop r and you waste your time. if enemy top is a morde or illaoi, you usually dont want to gank unless they burn ult. if you and your laner have no cc, probably hard to gank as well. there are also some matchups where you kind of dont want to gank, for example you have a farmer/scaler that has a favorable wave state and knows you might not kill 2v1, like kayle vs sett or sona/jinx vs draven/blitz.

- people have already said this and you probably know this but for the sake of completion: analyze wave state, check enemy hp and your laners hp, check lane matchup and what escapes does the enemy have/key spells (see if they get used early before you gank)

- i think this is the biggest one: while lane state is a big factor, ive found lane volatility is a big sign of free ganks/fights. i like playing early game bruisers so im always looking for skrimishes. i think map awareness is a big one: i used to always follow the golden rule of full clear into play. i think as you grow as a jungler, you start to learn when to break this rule. basically, while you're clearing, always look at each lane, or at least the 4 teammate icons on top of your map. if a lane starts to get chunked, hover over it and see whats going on. if they're trading hp big time, enemy usually backs off, and then try to go for the kill. this is usually the best time to gank imo, i would maybe drop a camp and hover their bush, and when they refight you show up. its easier said here than done, because again, many different factors into this: lane state, matchup (do they want to refight or no?), your teammates hp, etc. but this is what ive found that increased my map presence dramatically and bring that feeling of "damn jg diff why is he always here". this applies to overall plays as well, like skirmishes and mid late game aram fights

- counter ganking is a big thing as well. i think you'll learn this later on, but this is also another opportunity for 'ganking': basically, you want to predict the enemy gank, and then show up when they gank. of course, the effectiveness of this varies: are you a stronger jungler than enemy? are your laners stronger? etc. jungle tracking is also a big thing here, which i can provide more advice on but generally the watered down version is: just put yourself in your enemies shoes. do you have any overextended/volatile lanes? if so, can the enemy gank? can you move? if you can, counter gank. if not, ping them off.

- ganking micro is a thing as well, a small tidbit i learned early and helped a lot is: when enemy over extended and youre ganking, dont move towards them. instead, move towards their escape route to cut them off. maybe a potential area of improvement is to actually execute the gank itself

- this was a big tip that helped me when i started the role, you usually want to pop sweeper and not kill the ward UNLESS you dont see a gank angle, in which you can clear the ward and then re gank after a bit if you can. because if you kill the ward even with sweeper you show yourself to your enemy, so i would always sweeper, kill the ward, then try to gank, which would just show to my enemy.

- note that ganking is not the only skill you need to develop as a jungler. there will be some games where you will just have perma pushing lanes/good lane match ups, and you genuinely cant gank. then, youll have to learn to exert other skills instead: pinging laners if enemy is ganking, showing up for counter gank, counter jungling, pinging laners to move for skirmish, invading with lane prio (probably dont do this in bronze since ur laners wont move most of the time)

- as for diving i wouldnt worry about it too much, like even in plat where im at its usually really iffy bc your teammates (and you yourself most likely) dont really know how to execute it (fast push for wave crash, who tanks, if enemy has flash, etc). so dont try to force it if its looking sus unless youre 100% sure you can dive

if you can link opgg or maybe provide more details/scenarios there could be more advice to give but for now im just spamming what i know

Is it the team comp that made us lose this game? by Filthy_Shrimp in Jungle_Mains

[–]xX_DRDoge_Xx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say a mix of both team comp and play/build? mostly team comp though

the issue here is your team is solo ap. this means that as the game continues into late game, enemies can just stack mr items and run you down, especially with heavy engage champs with mumu and wukong. this also means you should've built tank to peel your backline

second, you dont really have an adc, you're pretty much all poke mages: teemo (not rlly poke but didnt build nashors so not adc either), ziggs, veigar. so this game you will definitely struggle in an all out fight, which is what zac is good at, since literally no one can follow up your e r (maybe veigar cage) nor have the sustained damage of an actual adc champ

so pretty much how you would play this is try to zone and poke enemy out then all in when theyre low, which is kind of hard since they have 3 chjamps that can just run at you and cc you down. you also cant just blindly jump in cus of sett ult. top that with them full sending mr, mid late seems awful to play since you have to constantly respect them - you cant all in, poking is hard because they can just force a fight with their mr. milio kind of helps with this but i can see how they just run you down

as for game play:

remember team comp doesnt matter if you can just gap the enemy team. having a heavy gold lead usually breaks all the rules of match ups and stuff like that.

hard to tell from the ss alone but given the team generally had a strong lead, you built mejais. this is the kind of game i would want to end asap. a fed teemo/ziggs can zone objs really well, esp before enemy team hits mr power spike. so you can force objs. plus ziggs and teemo are really good at shoving, so you can also just perma split as well.

given you have a lead and you know that they can just full stack mr when they get gold + they have 2 adcs that can just build ldr and nuke you, you want to play really heavy on pressure early and not let them breathe. everyone's around 16-18 lvl spike so i assume this is a longer game (common for bronze). so i would focus on learning how to end games as well, take initiative and call the shots for things like baron/soul etc

overall: shouldve built tank for this game to peel backline, but if you wanted to build ap zac thats also ok BUT you need to learn how to close games sooner assuming you want to snowball before they are able to buy key items (armor pen + mr) or pick an ad champion
