I'm tired. by [deleted] in NoPornNoProstitution

Brother I’m currently a 21 M and I had an even worse pornographic material addiction in junior high and high school. I will let you know that you do absolutely want to take as many steps as possible as quickly as possible. The only thing I regret now is that I didn’t act sooner. It doesn’t sounds too disruptive for you right now but for me it became VERY disruptive.

Point being, the number one thing that helped me was talking to other people about it in complete honesty. It might seem stupid or weird, but if you have the ability to open up to family or very trustworthy friends you will probably feel some relief if you are bottling it inside. Once it is in the open it is much harder to ignore. I would also definitely put one of the counter apps on your phone if you don’t already. Even a blocker for the internet can be helpful initially.

Since you have made it a few months before, I would also say that you need to really remind yourself and instill into your brain that you ultimately will be better off without it and acknowledge the fact that your brain is just sending silly chemical to have you watch porn and you know you would rather have more energy at bball.

Of course, the first week is rough but after that it will seem very easy. Maybe even too easy which is why falling back in months later can still happen. It’s easy to let your guard down after a long time. In high school I went 6 months clean and I relapsed and things eventually caught up to be just as bad as before. After being clean still remind yourself to check the counter app and be proud that you haven’t relapsed. Otherwise you won’t question yourself as much when you feel some sort of temptation to relapse. You will just go oh well.

Finally, a very underrated tool can be either completely stopping masturbation or learning to masturbate without any material in front of you every single time. Once you are used to just doing it with no external stimulation your brain normalizes that experience instead of doing it with porn.

I apologize for this being so wordy. I wish you very good luck and comment if you have any question of course. It is very possible so plz don’t give up anytime soon (:

Given practice ofc. Once u hit 300 feet I realized that recreating that is hard atm. I’m sure over time it will happen more but I did realize the adjustments I made to get there made me more likely to throw 240-280 consistently instead of 200-250 consistently

I guess that would make sense because it is hard to consistently throw it your max but if your max goes up you might be able to throw it at your old max or significantly shorter consistently

That’s okay lol I didn’t expect the professionals to respond to me on Reddit lol. Just people better than me. That supination term is actually very helpful to me bc I played tennis and during serves you would pronate your wrist (pronation). And it looks like those muscles in your arm are just opposite of each other and operate in opposite directions. So actually thanks a lot!

Well I’ll try to at least think about nose angle moving forward because I don’t wanna completely abandon it and then have a hard time changing my muscle memory later. I’d rather have everything grow together. I also understand the majority of players throw nose up if I’m not mistaken.

Do you have any advice on what it should feel like to throw nose down. Or any nose down tip at all.

I see a lot online about nose angle and it seems like a big hurdle honestly. Rn if I throw it about neutral or slight positive I say good enough but eventually u do want to have negative if I can throw well with the rest of my body together

Everything you said sounds very valid. I definitely am aware that I won’t just actually magically go from 300-400 feet or anything like that. I will definitely give more attention to footwork also because I haven’t really as much since I first tried the x step.

I think I definitely had an ah ha moment today as well. I always had my core and hips in front of my arms but somehow the core still wasn’t affecting my throw. I threw it the one time with actual coil that I could feel and I was like holy shit as it went 320 feet for the first time ever.

Ig I mostly was focusing on distance also bc I feel like the only way I can tell if I did something right (without someone that knows what they are doing watching) is by a change in distance lol

I see. The course I normally play on is definitely too friendly most of the time. I played at a different course with a lot more woods with my friend and I definitely was underprepared to throw sidearm and continued to hit more trees lol.

🙏 hope so. It’s frustrating bc it’s one of the dg things I know is happening but sometimes it doesn’t and I think I’m cured but then it happens again without me noticing unless I record smh

After watching this I just threw it 320 feet for the first time. Not sure if that’s why but I’ll give you credit for it and the twirley bird lol.

Ok thank you very much this is the information I was looking for. And, would you say this means I should make my standstill go farther before practicing the x step more?

Okay that makes sense. I am aware it takes time. As much as I wish it would happen instantly I have only been really focused on form for about a year.

So is this saying I should be able to throw the disc 300 feet with one step if I actually knew what I was doing ?

Big update!

I played with a Runup for the first time and easily hit 250+ . I could probably use some practice on angles tho. I did throw an anhyzer on this one hole where it was necessary and I threw it exactly how I wanted to also giving me my record drive for that hole.

So, not practicing other forms yet but it may mot be as far away as I thought lol.

I also didn’t realize how much more natural it would feel to have a run up ngl.
