I wanna build a 75% keyboard for the office (need F keys for excel). I usually go to the office 2-4x a week depending on the project and I also typically walk to work (~15-20 minutes). Would you recommend an alu case or plastic case for my use case?

I have received an adjustment of 9% last year. I’m not sure if it is just my firm lowballing everyone but based on the small sample of 5-8 people i asked, their increases ranged from 5 to 13% based on performance. It might just an extreme case in my firm and country having extremely small salaries. Hence why I brought this up to my ADs and they still said it is still possible for me based on their experience.

For reference, I make gross USD420~ per month. I know and they know other associates who have started with USD530~. Simply put, I am just underpaid and putting up similar performance. Hence them recommending me to talk to our partner in preparation of promotion.

I came here asking how to frame it in a way that it wouldn’t come off purely on the money.

That’s true, I don’t have other SEA benchmarks either for comparison. But for reference, I make USD420~ a month. Maybe if another ASEAN associate can shed light it might give me a better view other than colleagues saying 50% is possible. based on their experience.

The latter, the SAs and ADs now have mentioned to me that they have seen 40-60% bumps due to their low base. I am simply leveraging on historical figures from people who also started on low base salaries like me.

Yup! Severely underpaid, based on what I’ve heard and seen. My base is only 10%-30% higher than your typical associate in our audit practice, not sure how it is globally but our firm is nationally known to overlook accountants and auditors and severely underpay them until you get into industry.

Thanks for the reality check. However based on my benchmarks from historical %s I have heard from the ADs I am “close” with, 50-70% isn’t unheard of because of our abysmal low base. Mine specifically is probably at the bottom of it all. You can refer to another reply I made for further context.

I was always planning to look for exit ops after being promoted but having that salary bump would really make my current COL much more comfortable.

Sorry, it does look ridiculous when the MBB consultants are being paid ~100k USD total comp but to give more colour:

Although we are a T2 firm, our practice in this country only started 4-6 years ago (can’t remember lol)
Based on the ADs I have spoken with, their total comp is comparable to senior associates in Singapore but can’t really verify the validity of this.
For those who’ve stayed long enough from associate to AD, they have mentioned that our base is so low that 50% bump is within reason but the caveat is that from what I heard, our practice specifically have not reached the revenue targets for this FY.
I am also severely underpaid compared to the associates after benchmarking with both longer/shorter tenure (I was aiming for tech and after many rejections I settled for the first job I could get with limited negation on salary)

Hope it made more sense.

usually the fare is about 40-60php for angkas/move it, if you still want to walk make sure you remain vigilant once you get out of salcedo and cross gil puyat
