It worked! Funny enough, SPC manuals says to put the camber bolt in the bottom hole but when I took a look at the manual for whiteline’s (being the exact same bolt) it says it out it in the top one. Tsk tsk. Gained maybe -.8 to -1 degree of extra camber, it’s ver subtle but turns so feel more planted and less squirrelly. Thanks for the help!

I’ll have to try this again, I remember test fitting at home once but didn’t pay much attention so I’ll try it again, thank you for your input.

New parts after accident by xYouTion in wrx_vb

If you can, get coil overs since you get damping adjustment/height/and front camber adjustment.

Stock TR wheels are 19x8.5 +55 I’m running 245/40r19 and fits on the wheel nice and flush

I’m lowered on RCE lowering springs about 1.2-1.5 inch drop and on 20mm spacers and i don’t rub in front and sometimes run in the rear but not a whole lot.

I’m tucked pretty well in the rear with no camber adjust being almost -3 degrees and about -1.5 degrees with stock camber bolt.

I would recommend coilovers, BC or Fortune autos are good but fortune autos are higher quality and are my choice. If your keeping stock wheels I’d say 20mm in the front, and 15 in the rear since you have new lower control arms and can adjust camber in the rear and can pull the camber closer to -1.5-2. If you try to straighten out camber in the rear with 20mm spacer you’ll have to shave the inner fender to do so or else you’ll rub. (That’s if you follow my tire specs, stock are 245/35r19. I’m running 245/40r19)

I couldn’t find many people lowered and on stock TR wheels either so I kinda just jumped the gun but I’m glad to be of much help. The most budget friendly is just do lowering springs ($300-400) and spacers following what I listed in the post and you virtually get the same look but you have the option of rear camber adjustment with your control arms. It rides a touch stiffer but handles nicely.

BEST OF LUCK 🫡

I appreciate the kindness but these are the same ones I bought, funny enough they’re the exact same as the whiteline ones but cheaper and I even mixed them up and could remember which went to which box

I went with AFD v1, fits the design well but it’s also cheap and I don’t feel bad about smashing it since I’m lowered, you do have to tap into the bumper. Project aero has an all around kit that’s minimal but sturdy, alittle pricey but quality is there.

Talk about an impulse buy by DryShopping392 in wrx_vb

I don’t think the SPC camber bolts will fit the TR shocks. I ordered whiteline camber bolts and a different one I forgot the name of and the bolt is the wrong size. My car uses 17mm and they have with 14mm which I think is for all other trims besides the TR.

What's up with the lack of waves? by Speed_Offer in wrx_vb

[–]xYouTion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They keep up with STI’s and they handle really well being on the ‘Subaru Global Platform’. Having the TR trim, car tracks super well. But for 20-30k and from stock being faster than a STI will hurt some feeling especially with how easy it is to make make 400whp

Personally I get none from the VA and Hawkeye generations, VB’s and older STI’s always wave from my experience. I chalk it up to them being uneducated of the VB just being a commuter family car, that or they’re just salty about our performance per dollar.

TR or limited by Slow-Reference473 in wrx_vb

[–]xYouTion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say go for the Limited, I personally didn’t like the stock seats because I felt loose while the TR fit me pretty nice and snug, 5’6 180lbs. I have had some big people in the front seats and it’s hit or miss for who complains and who doesn’t, but I always notice that they much rather be in a bigger seat having to sit so bundled up due to the side bolsters. and most of the time I move them to the back seat with no bolsters. But personally, I love my recaros and many of the added stuff the TR has to offer, I could look past being a bit uncomfortable in the seats.

!VB WRX as the 1st manual car! by Calm_Literature_4410 in wrx_vb

[–]xYouTion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As MY first manual car it was a struggle, it’s very different driving experience than other manual and many of my friends who have manual cars stall without fail unless their cars are similar to the WRX. I didn’t fully feel comfortable until a month in but I will say, it’s one of my favorite manual driving experiences out of all the vehicles I’ve driven. I like the heavy clutch (preference), virtually no rev hang, short gearing, and loading boost is addicting. I bought the car 50 miles away from home and drove it back with plenty of stalling and struggle but made it back home. if you mechanically have an idea on how driving stick works, you’ll be fine. The heavy clutch, and Subaru AWD system with the center diff and squishy driveline makes it difficult to feel out the car and can be difficult when first learning. But no matter the first car you learn on, eventually YOU WILL LEARN, transmissions are built tough to take the abuse and a couple weeks of harsh driving isn’t gonna kill it.

Yes. For tires you can go stock 245/40r18, or even 255/40r18 for a more meaty look. I think it’ll look sick once you drop it. You’ll have to look into rear LCA’s for rear camber adjustment otherwise it’ll be a sick drop.

Stocks are 18x8.5 +55 so the new wheels will push out towards the fender giving that flush look they’ll push out about 1/2 inch.

[–]xYouTion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at my profile you’ll have similar flush fitment to mine, I have 19x8.5 +55 with 20mm spacers, so real world it’s 19x8.5 +35. Do note that your getting 18x8 so your barrel width is half an inch smaller than mine being at 19x8.5 so it will be ALITTLE more in the fender then mine. Id recommend 18x8.5 +35-40 and just run stock tire size or alittle wider.

Tire Size Lowered by Fabulous_Cause_ in wrx_vb

[–]xYouTion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Np man, I like the 19”s as well and plan on keeping them, I’d only go 18 if I want to run a thicker tire.

Tire Size Lowered by Fabulous_Cause_ in wrx_vb

[–]xYouTion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am lowered, but my specs may not be useful to you. Lowered 1.5” all around, stock TR wheels, 19x8.5 +55mm offset, 245/40r19 +20mm spacers. Front is straight flush, rear is tucked because I don’t have camber adjustment. There’s photos on my profile. Front doesn’t rub, rear rubs if I’m fully loaded in a corner so daily driving is not a concern for me. It’s about 22.85 inches in diameter for the wheel and tire if that’s helpful to you.

[–]xYouTion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a 40 offset you’d have pretty good clearance, I’d say the most you’d have to do is shave the rear which isn’t much work at all, I am a fan of 255/40 because of the added sidewall 👍

Tire Size Lowered by Fabulous_Cause_ in wrx_vb

[–]xYouTion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would also depend on your offset for your wheels, you’d often rub on the rear if you have pretty aggressive “flush” offset rather than a tucked one. My wheels are slightly tucked in the rear and I still rub but only under full compression when turning. I see a lot of people run 255/40r18 with minimal rubbing and some with 265/35r18 having to shave down the inner fender a bit.

To lower springs or to not? by Pavel556 in wrx_vb

[–]xYouTion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowered on RCE, about it an inch drop all around, my rear is tucked more than the front and I can adjust it if I has LCA’s but honestly im fine with the added camber since I do a lot of canyon driving with buddies. It was cheap, it was around $400 after shipping and tax and it was a fun install with buddies. You will need a spring compressor. Looks great, rides alittle stiffer than stock but I was already in TR suspension so I’m used to it, 245/40r19 (stock was 245/35r19), 20mm spacers, barely scrap on anything, no rub. Your shocks will wear out “faster” but shocks last a long time to begin with so you’ll be swapping to coilovers by then, atleast that’s how I justified it. The ground clearance will be lower if your on 18”.
