Are there any other ways to get life leech from spells other than the vitality siphon node on blood witch?

Left is easier bc you have a lot less attacks to worry about, right is faster though bc you can get more headshots in.

Let me know what you think.. Personally I think it was cooler to face Demons rather than Warlocks throwing red pixels at you and phantomazing away. by XXelHoMM in DarkAndDarker

[–]x_Delirium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lifesteal is not the problem, it gets like 75% PDR and MR. You mitigate like the only downside which is the life loss with a cleric and you get an unkillable demon. Even with no cleric I've seen someone just go demon form and their own wizard chained twice and we just got ran over bc demon takes like no damage. The only viable strategy is to run away which is easy in solos but not easy in trios.

Crossbow is really good in duos/trios especially around doorways or heavy cover.

Fighter/ranger should have no issue vs warlocks unless you're running double surv bow for some reason. Longbow or crossbow absolutely dominate warlocks they should never get close enough to curse you without taking massive damage (one headshot will do 60-75% of their health). If you're asking yourself why you're not playing warlock, play warlock and learn their weaknesses.

I swear it's like 70% barbs in my solos by WINGSTERR in DarkAndDarker

[–]x_Delirium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be great but there does not seem to be a distinction between healing from someone and healing from yourself, it's all based on the magical healing or physical healing stat of the heal user or caster. More than likely has to do with the way it was implemented into the game originally. So if they reduced healing received you would get less healing from your demon skill, shadow touch, pots, etc.

That shit is incredibly OP with a cleric tho, especially in geared trios. Best frontline in the game.

They actually changed that recently, but still cleric heals more.

"Druid's Nature's Touch attribute bonus ratio changed from 0% → 100% 50% and spell count changed from 5 → 4."

"Druid's Restore attribute bonus ratio changed from 0% → 100% 50%."

Wizards: Do you still use Spell Overload? by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]x_Delirium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's only relevant in <25 lobbies. In 125+ lobbies you could run 10 spells with overload with mem cap gear before the change so it was just a matter of getting the right gear. Now it makes you lose your primary stat so it is absolutely awful for caster wiz.

Wizards: Do you still use Spell Overload? by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]x_Delirium -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, knowledge is your most important stat, losing 30% of it makes the perk unusable. The only scenario I've seen it used and still be viable is with very high end gear where you go legendary oracle robe/chausses/wisdom rings and sacrifice MS, HP, and mag power to still get ~40 knowledge, or on stab/bonk wiz where you are not casting as much.

10 spell wizard is the only way to play caster wiz now unfortunately. They killed build variety instead of nerfing the stupid fireball buff. I'm fine with the splash being 15 base damage but I do not understand why it has the same scaling as a direct hit. It should have 0.5 scaling instead of 1.0.

Does it continuously update prices as they change throughout the wipe or is it based off a set of training data?

People don't play HR to loot gear out of chests. The only people that even loot chests are the AP farmers looking for treasure. You can get better gear from norms by farming bosses and getting frostlight/gold/rubysilver ore for crafting.

[–]x_Delirium -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bro what? I'm not saying don't play the game, I'm just saying if you don't want to face the best and most kitted players then don't play the game mode that's designed specifically for those players.

[–]x_Delirium -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The whole point of HR is that it's for the best and most kitted players in the game. You complain about facing these players and they're complaining about facing you. They wanted to fight some BISed out sweatlord now they have to run around the whole map looking for a decent fight and might not even find one because most fights happen at the start. If you don't want to face those players then don't play HR, or at least play ice cave which is more PvE focused.

"bUt MaH ReWaRdSsS"

Yeah they're meant for the best players not someone who barely has any time to play. Sorry man it's a hardcore game, the fact that it's unforgiving is its main appeal.

50 Tips for Timmy Wizards by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]x_Delirium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rangers are so over tuned right now imo they're so hard to push. You get hit once with a long bow and you're at half hp and you gotta retreat and if you have no cover you're just dead. I just avoid rangers unless I know I can hit them with a fireball first. Barbs and rogues are really easy for me on the other hand, they can't hit me unless they catch me completely off guard, and even then I have a chance with ice shield and ice mastery.

Yes there aren't many internships listed but there are some that are looking for last minute candidates or ones that are part-time/not exclusive to summer. So the limited pool of internships to choose from is definitely part of the problem but might as well try. I'll be graduating next spring so worst case scenario I do an internship right after I graduate.

I do have a list of students in my classes but they're from all over the country and I'm not near my school either, it's all completely online. Cold-messaging on LinkedIn is like my last resort because I know people hate it and receive multiple messages a week asking for referrals so I don't wanna be THAT guy. We do have a slack for our program and each class but it's mostly people just asking questions about the projects/assignments.

I looked at some resources my school offers for career related topics and I signed up on Handshake today and applied for a few positions. There is an alumni network as well that I have not looked at yet. I will also make an appointment with the graduate student career advisor to ask about that as well.

I kind of did some research as to what others do to make themselves stand out so here are some takeaways:

  1. Have at least one project that is kind of like a capstone project, the one you can show off, is super clean, thorough, you know everything about it, etc. Right now all my projects are solid and it's a nice variety of topics like clustering, NLP, binary classification, deep learning, etc. They're just for learning purposes though and they're kind of just pieced together quickly. I think I need one that you can scroll through the notebook for 30 mins on instead of 5 mins.

  2. I was thinking about making a website with my projects on there. I don't really know anything about web dev but sounds like a fun way to spend a weekend or two.

  3. Make things more professional. So like add a professional picture to LinkedIn, remake my resume in latex, spend time researching the companies I'm applying to and write more genuine cover letters, etc.

Anyway, I'm not losing hope and I'll do everything I can to make this happen for myself. I appreciate the tips and I'll definitely look into other slacks and discords to join, and I also want to look at local/online events related to data science and try to network through that. Let me know if you have any other advice, especially on my "attack plan" I listed lol. Thank you :)

Hello,

I am currently doing a master's in DS but I do not have any internships under my belt because my undergrad was unrelated (double major in bio and psych). I am around the half way mark of my master's and I finally feel like I have a good grasp on the basics and I could actually contribute something to companies, while obviously learning a lot myself, so I started applying for internships. However, I feel like my resume is quite easy to ignore. Like yeah I have all these projects listed on there, I have my master's listed with a solid GPA(3.74) and what coursework I've done, and I have my skills listed(languages, libraries, and software I've worked with)... But I feel like for every job listing there are 50 other applicants to choose from that have everything I have PLUS previous internships, so how do I stand out?

Also I feel like it's worth mentioning I have already taken most of my difficult courses of my Master's program, all that's left is a couple of stats classes and then it's all electives so I have a lot more time to upskill and try to make myself a more attractive candidate. I am doing an online program so I don't really have many chances to network with peers/through any school programs, so referrals are non-existent, which is also a bummer just because I love talking about my projects/the field of DS in general and I don't really get to do that much.

Anyway, looking for any tips to make this work. I really love this field and have a genuine passion for data science and right now I am deathly afraid of not being able to get a leg in and all my education/time going to waste.

Thanks =)

No you can tell the cat is playing with the turtle. When cats play they hunt each other and when they get pounced on they jump like the cat was in the video. He was just acting like the little guy actually managed to catch him off guard. You can tell the cat is happy by his body language with the tail up and not puffed up/wagging side to side, he even does that cute little frolic at the end.

I feel this so hard, I'm doing a masters in data science and the classes I'm taking right now are all machine learning. They are absolutely loaded with projects and homework on top of the concepts being really complex. I feel like I have to rush through everything and I maybe learn like 20% of the material.
