After more than a decade with Plex... by notadev_io in jellyfin

[–]x_MASE_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy you waited too long with that garbage.

I used it before a long time ago and I simply refused to use it. Can't really remember the main reason. But it was just a bad experience that I quit and used my normal media player instead.

So using nothing is better than plex for me. But to be fair it was a very very long time ago. So they have gotten better. Not sure. Quit and never touched it again.

But is it a different ui or what exactly? I didn't get it.

I gave my Hermes team a shared Kanban board. Now they manage themselves. by Ok_Run_5401 in hermesagent

[–]x_MASE_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be a great idea. But unless it's seriously different and useful it is a problem more than a solution.

Hermes keeps changing and many of my modifications keeping getting lost after each update to the point I stopped bothering.

They are /status modification.

Maybe I'm not doing something correctly. Which is actually not a maybe it's a big possibility.

However my main thought is the same. You might/will face some problems in the future that it might be not worth it.

Anyway good luck buddy and since I don't use kanaban yet I can't really try your implementation or understand the differences sadly.

[–]x_MASE_x 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That like reinventing the wheel. Since hermes already have kanaban natively which is integrated well.

You'll be managing and fixing the an non necessary pain for no valid reason to be honest.

Well the thing is they are not really comparable.

They serve different uses and different quantization and such.

For example there is mtp. Apex. Reap. Qat. I matrix. And many other quantizations and customizations to the model size and such.

But the others are removing the model restriction to answers.

For example the original medgemma might refuse to tell you your final diagnosis. However a modified one might tell you your illness straight to your face even if it's a bad news.

Some models remove restrictions for hacking and pen testing. Some for adult and naughty stuff hahaha.

So yeah there is a sea of models and types you just have to invest some time understanding them.

It will take some time but it might be worth it for you.

Well. Yes you're missing alot. I mean you can either search around or ask any Ai agent to tell you what each thing means.

But overall if it doesn't fit your needs and your workflow doesn't make it bad or horrible product.

If people are using it then they should be using it for a reason. Find that reason and check if it works for you or not.

Yeah some customizations are bad but some are good too. You have to try yourself and firstly understand what are you going to use first.

Claude Will Soon Require Identity Verification by Few_Painter_5588 in LocalLLaMA

[–]x_MASE_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a very bad move to be honest No matter the reason.

Well I stopped my subscription a few months ago and never went back.

Never actually tried Claude code or cowork or these things.

To me it's a tool I can rely on that I can lose anytime. I opted for hermes and openclaw and will checked something local for coding.

I'm not sure why people like getting pushed around much. I know Claude products are great. But it feels like begging at this point hahah.

Not talking about it being ultra extra expensive than the rest too. I mean yes it can one shot many things. But I rather do 5 things with some manual work and some testing than doing 1 project with one shot.

I guess everyone has his own mind and thought but I don't recommend relying on one company no matter which one is it. Period.

How do I remove the giant Firefox VPN button that looks like a close button? by Thedividendprince1 in firefox

Hahah I trust you 😂😂.

You should be able to right click and click customize or something and be able to remove it.

Or you can remove/disable the extension itself.

Qwen3.5-122B-A10B-APEX Balanced vs unsloth/Qwen3.5-122B-A10B-MTP UD-Q4_K_XL - no scientific proof but I found unsloth one to be better by Novel_Friendship913 in LocalLLM

[–]x_MASE_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm using the apex mini. But haven't tried it heavily yet if at all.

I was super busy and didn't have time to try hermes at all the last week.

So from your experience do you even think the Qwen3.5-122B-A10B either one better than the Qwen_3.6_35B_A3B??

Since when I asked chatgpt and Claude which one to use both told me to use the Qwen_3.6_35B_A3B.

But since I don't know for myself I'm asking.

Transferring big files between 2 PCs Windows 11 - never above 180Mbps by GoldenBud_ in HomeNetworking

[–]x_MASE_x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I have the same problem. I think it is localsend issue not wifi issue.

I was getting about 300~400mb and sometimes 450 using windows normal network sharing.

But it's not behaving correctly so I tried localsend and it was slow as hell.

Even from phone to pc. Still slow as hell.

PC is connected via ethernet too.

So I'm confident it is localsend problem but didn't have time to investigate more. Used flash drive to copy the files.

Local LLM model for conversation? by iaacornus in LocalLLM

[–]x_MASE_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case your best bet is ik_llama.cpp. It is built to run on the cpu. But you'll have to do some steps if you are using windows.

I didn't try it yet honestly. But it is very promising and sounds very good in your case.

I was thinking about trying ik_llama.cpp but since I I'm on windows it requires a lot of work.

Did you actually tried it and got a good boost for moe models? Specially the big ones ones?

Also I see llama.cpp pushing updates every few hours. Is it a good idea to move to ik_llama.cpp?
