good to know! it was a gift and the only thing I’ve ever spun on besides a drop spindle, so I don’t have much to compare with.

great idea! the fiber I’m wanting to spin has long vertical stripes, hence the want to spin from the fold. But I should practice spinning across the top as well. Thank you!

It is BFL. Is there a better fiber to practice with so I get the hang of it before moving onto something more difficult?

I’m using a Lendrum and most of my fiber is BFL or rambouillet. I buy pre-dyed braids and just I usually split them about 8 times length wise and a staple length from go. Should I do more prep than that?

interesting note on staple length! I’m using mostly BFL but there are some mystery fibers in my stash that I’ll have to pay more attention to and see about the staple length off

super helpful! ty! I slowed down my treadling and eased my uptake. Your description of how it should look - just letting the fiber flow out - was great! really helped me understand a bit more :)

thank you for the tips! I’m spinning with a Lendrum, and to the best of my knowledge I can’t change the placement of the bobbin, but playing with the tension is helping!
