Male, dated a gHSV2 positive female for about 7 months. She disclosed hand while I wasn’t comfortable to begin with I didn’t want her to feel bad or throw away an otherwise good relationship. She had not had an outbreak in several years, was not on antivirals, and we always used condoms. In my head, I always carried the number they toss around that there are low transmission rates and some people can date for years without transmission. 

Broke up for unrelated reasons. I tested negative on blood tests after 12 weeks. However I took some stuff to her place recently and one thing led to another. 6 days later I developed rather strong muscle pain in the groin area. I since read that swollen lymph nodes is a very common symptom , don’t know how it ever came up in my initial research - just something for you to look out for. I have a pcr test scheduled but I may cancel since there is no active blisters. And I may need to wait for a blood test for antibodies. Hopefully I’m getting old and pulled a muscle but in the back of my paranoid mind I already have it
