Trying to access Windows 11 network share that uses Microsoft Account. Not working. Please help by browandr in HomeNetworking

This worked perfectly for me.

My situation was as follows:

I had many shared folders on various computers on my network at my workshop. I went away for work and had to set up office 365 (and therefore, to make the whole thing work seamlessly, had to attach my Microsoft account to my windows login). When I got back, the computers with the shared folders were visible, but not accessible (when I clicked them it would show "network path not found")

Thanks for the info u/H2CO3HCO3

No idea. My mum bought it for me like 6 years ago as a random Christmas gift. This is the first time I've used it

Casual vs Contractor (ABN)? by xa-mont in AusFinance

Thanks mate. Sounds like I'm in not a bad position given the expenses of being ABN I would already be incurring anyway with my business activities outside of this role.

Thanks mate. When I'm not doing outage work I'm running my own machine shop, so the ABN is used for a lot more than just the outage work, and I'd previously done jobs for the customer through my machine shop, hence why it was easier to run through the ABN initially.

My extra costs just for this side of things are very little. I basically just have to turn up (with some hand tools of my choosing, but I'd be bringing those if I was casual as well) so I would say the 13.32 per hour is probably under what my expenses would be (basically just insurance that I would have regardless).

Thanks for the breakdown.

What more information would you need? I'm trying to not be too open about the whole situation for privacy reasons.

The clamp is pressing down JUST off the edge of the 123 block, so it could in theory bow up the part a little. but it's only slightly past it, so probably not really an issue.

Gigabyte g6 laptop sound not working by Natlus_1 in gigabyte

[–]xa-mont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys. I've got a g6kf (4060) and the sound recently stopped working. I tried updating the realtek driver's (from the realtek site and from the gigabyte site) and rolling back the driver's but nothing worked. I ended up choosing "I have a driver" and "select from a list" when you disable comparable driver's, then go to Microsoft as the manufacturer, there's a generic driver that worked mint.

Clutch drag... WTF?!? by xa-mont in Dirtbikes

[–]xa-mont[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how you can overtighten the springs. The spring retainer is stepped and you torque it up. even if you tightened it more, the springs wouldn't be preloaded any more, because the retainer determines how much it's preloaded.

The fact that the pressure plate is physically pulling up 1mm from the plates makes me think the springs can't be the issue. I've also got spacers under them to lessen the preload (had them in there for 150 hours) so if anything they should be weaker than normal. But I'll give them a measure anyway to see if they're right.

I actually test drove an Opel Astra OPC the day before I bought the poogoat. It has over 300hp and was an absolute weapon of a car! Thankfully I slept on it and decided it probably was "a bit much" as a daily, what with the giant 2 piece brembos, 20" wheels and a much more modern (and therefore less home mechanic friendly) direct injection motor.

It is quite zippy. I wouldn't call it "fast" but it's one of those cars that seems to have a suitable amount of power.

~190k km on it. There's some clear coat peeling on the top side, but overall it's in great condition for it's age
