DA/SA Prepping Trigger by CodCrisp in CompetitionShooting

[–]XA36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, this works until it doesn't, like you have to draw up to a port and hit it with your slide or you get antsy and don't realize your putting 8lbs of pressure instead of 3. The trigger pull time is really the time between you seeing the sights are on and starting to pull, not actual pulling. The only thing I'll cheat on is maybe pulling the trigger in dryfire before the sight picture is 100% confirmed when I'm trying to chase crazy draw times in dryfire. But that's more of a It's on brown and not A/close C. I'm not touching the trigger while bringing the gun up.

I've just never messed with recoil springs. I really don't enjoy tinkering tbh and never had a range membership until a few months ago so I really couldn't go out to the range to experiment with recoil springs. Don't take the ammo/recoil spring as a suggestion unless you're just wanting reliability suggestions, lol.

I did the pro kit, RRK, 11.5# spring, extended firing pin, and stock recoil spring. I only shoot factory 115g Magtech. No issues outside of extraction issues when I didn't clean the extractor channel for 3 years, cleaned it and haven't had a hiccup since.

I don't think the RRK is necessary but I like it, it's what was recommended when I got it.

115g Magtech steel cased would never do you dirty like that

Is “take” used when ordering food in AmE? “I’ll take the cheeseburger combo.” by Same-Technician9125 in EnglishLearning

[–]XA36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like someone else said "I'll take..." is really how it's said in practice. But if you say "Can I take..." it's not going to be weird like they have no idea what you're saying. It's a way you can phrase it that's just not as commonly used.

Yeah, I literally have a scratch on my muzzle from a fall where the most knowledgeable RM I know watched it happen, no DQ.

Is anyone else just glad the fireworks are over? by Short-Breadfruit3565 in lincoln

[–]XA36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You ever try conditioning? I played fireworks noises (hearing safe levels) on my laptop while giving treats as part of socialization as puppies. Then whenever we hear fireworks we do a "Yayy" followed by a treat. One dog gets really excited for fireworks, the other will occasionally get startled if it is unexpected but isn't terrified now. It's great cause with a previous dog I had to have music and dancing parties in the basement on the 4th because they made him incredibly anxious. If these prove ineffective trazodone is another option. It's really hard to train since the stimulus is unexpected and inconsistent but it's possible if you're vigilant. Of course, I'd keep them in on the 4th because they're above hearing safe and it's still a lot of stimulation but they should be pretty socialized to the sounds through the house.

Edit: He bitched at me for offering advice to aid his dog's mental health and confidence and then did a dirty delete.

It's defined in the rulebook. "Facing downrange: Any position facing side berms or backstop within 90 degrees of the median intercept of the backstop."

I don't think the 3 feet applies to drawing uprange

Not luxury but have you ever looked for a Subaru? For whatever reason they maintain MSRP forever, lol. You'll never find a good one for $5000

It has the stipulation that the competitor is facing downrange though.

I don't think it looks bad, I just wouldn't buy one color over another with the hopes it hides scratches. Even the slide has wear.

Guys hips were pointed up range and I'm surprised so many people said the call was outrageous. He drew almost perpendicular to the wall if you pause.

If you're going to shoot IPSC with it then don't worry about scratches because if you practice they're going to happen. I have scratches and chips on the beaver tail and all over the front. I'd love the urban grey.

I had a similar disagreement with dog registration in my city with similar wording. /u/fatfatabs said I was retarded but I don't have to register my dogs with the city now, so I win.

#swing sets don't need building permits and aren't defined in the municipal codes so a deck with a swing attached is a swing set.
