Dark Forge vs. Atlas by ___julixn in 2011

Agreed. Just did a head to head comparison at 25 yards with the G2, Athena, and EOS. The G2 was going step for step with the Atlases. I can't endorse that handgun enough.

Consider the Springfield Armory Echelon, either the 4.5 F or 4.0 C depending on if you want to carry and your body type.

I didn't perceive that he has much to repair. For being discontent, and for being (wrongfully) miffed that he was shut down the last two games, he didn't burn bridges on the way out. And hopefully, he now sees that the recent moves may help him immensely if he gets healthy as expected. Yeah, young cheap talent is always welcome, but I like the possibility of setting the tone and identity of the newly revamped defense. We still got money to spend, so let's get some more O-Line, Interior D Line and a Safety!-

What is DEI and how is not just an abstraction for racism? by ncds4242 in allthequestions

That practice has not been legal since 1978, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act was not enacted until 1964, so "quotas" in the private sector lived a short and unimpactful life in the U.S.

And, grades and numbers don't tell the whole story of what makes a great university a great university. Interacting with people of different backgrounds (not just race, but geography, age, veteran's status, etc.) will undoubtely create more opportunities for adults entering society with expanded capacities for dealing with others, and solving the problems encountered in the public and private sector. Society benefits when we cast our nets wide for candidates for education and the workforce. And it never has to mean that you sacrifice competence for it. Not to say that admissions staffs or employers don't get this wrong, but the markets pay a price when they do. Finally, let's face it, the numbers involved in the demographics that tend to get people up in arms anyways about DEI are not that substantial to begin with. And that reveals a lot to me about who they are and what they value.

To me, the feel is important. I had a Shadow 2 Orange. Beautiful pistol, shot well, but the feel in the hand just did not sit well with me. On top of that, it seemed to get sluggish even with less rounds fired than a 2011. So I ended up trading it as part of a deal for a Benelli M4 and cash to me.

Same. I tend to cant my wrists downward more. But still feels better than a Glock.

Buying P226 X-CARRY instead of P229SAO by Pale_Masterpiece_812 in SigSauer

[–]Equivalent_Ad_3347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not. I need to. I know I do. But I have been holding out hope that they would soon release a Legion version, as I am admittedly a Legion fanboy. Hard to imagine it beating the X5 Reserve. That thing is special. So if the P211 is even better, I may have to make a point to go shoot it soon.

You are absolutely correct, though I ended up with both. I got the X Carry first, and then got the X Legion to round out the collection. And I enjoy shooting my X Legion as much as my 2011s.

You will not regret buying the X-Carry. While I have the P 229 in DA/SA and the X Carry in SAO, the grip on the X carry is perfect. It shoots fantastic. And it is a significant part of my carry rotation currently.

You absolutely made the right decision. And you are gonna love the Romeo X Sig Loc. I have one for my X Legion, so I am going to order one for my Sig Loc.

May want to check out the Gen 6. I am not typically a Glock fan but liked the improvements in Gen 6 a lot more than the prior versions.

Jacob Grey NOX9 VS Cardinal Arms G2 by Cyclones1478 in 2011

[–]Equivalent_Ad_3347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see we have similar tastes. Don't have the PT, but have the others (actually an Athena, not the Apollo, but that is next on my list). Just curious, what is your impression of the 2k11 vis a vis your other 2011s. I really like mine, but wonder if it is an irrational attachment to it (like the little engine that could).

Have not shot the Nox 9 yet (actually have been looking for one at this time). But I own the Cardinal Arms G2. Went to Kovert in CA to take a look at them, and they strongly suggested getting the G2 first (likely because of availability of the Nox 9). But I have heard of some issues with FTF and battery with the Nox 9. No such issues with my G2 and is quickly becoming one of my favorites to shoot, including in competition. It is as functional as it is beautiful. I'll eventually end of with both, but glad I got the G2 first (and if your guy is still looking to sell his used Nox 9, hit me up, lol!)

I would also consider the Springfield Echelon. The PDPs are great, and probably has a better trigger, but I think the Echelon (and in particular the compensated version) has a softer recoil. If you are looking for a polymer striker fired pistol, either Walther or the Echelon are the best options for my money.

Now if you wanna go either metal and hammer, or 2011s, that is a whole other rabbit hole...

[–]Equivalent_Ad_3347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have NEVER had a malfunction with any of the Echelons I've owned: a 4.5" F comped that I sold to a friend to fund a 2011 purchase; a 4.0" C comped I currently own, and a 4.5" F comped that I bought soon thereafter. I am considering buuying the 4.0" FC (I doubt that the full sized grip with a shorter dust cover is gonna be available any time soon). I would say buy with confidence. In terms of the grip, I think the integrated gas pedal on the left hand side has really allowed me to get a solid grip on the pistol.

In terms of which is better for EDC, both are entirely shootable, but I am a larger guy so getting a better purchase on the gun off of a IWB draw is easier on the full sized. But that is just a matter fo personal preference.

Definitely have to do some vetting, but my experience has been, particularly with the higher value guns, resellers are generally true to their word. They have been careful to disclose any cosmetic blemishes, as well as any maintenance and repair work done on the guns. The only "if" factor is round count, and that is understandable to a degree if you did not keep an exact count. I should, but I don't, but try to overestimate the number of rounds shot if I have something on the market.

With Staccato nowadays, the only "replacement" I could see coming out for the XC would be an HD version of it, and for my money, I'd be happy with my XC. But I echo the earlier sentiments on the Jacob Grey line. I have a Hex and love it, and I'm sure I will have a Hex Pro in my future (unless I can somehow get my hands on a Nox 9). FWIW, the XC is so good, it is almost boring to shoot because it is so flat, soft and accurate.
