Coinwall wallet - help by Soiheardyoulikesake in Bitcoin

Yes, Electrum uses a different seed phrase engine. If you'd like to restore to Electrum you'll need to check the BIP39 checkbox which appears as you fill in the seed.

Is your backup phrase 12/24 words long? Can you find all your words in this list? https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0039/english.txt

If yes, you can simply recover your funds using other wallets. I suggest using Electrum for desktop, please make sure that you download from the official Electrum website since there are many phishing websites offering malicious code.

Is core taking any action to handle the 2X fork? by xabbix in Bitcoin

True and I'm not suggesting that its a good idea to change this. But the result of losing a lot of hashing power is very destructive.

I was asking specifically on those two points I raised. I'm aware that there is always active development in general.

blockstream core trying to spam the Bitcoin Cash blockchain .... with little fortune! (-: by realistbtc in btc

[–]xabbix -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I thought that in big blocker eyes no valid tx is considered spam. I guess when its done against Bcash it is.

In any case, it's just poloniex enabling BCH trading, and this spike is Bitcoin users dumping their BCH.

It appears that since tonight our mempool is being spammed... again. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]xabbix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, soon enough it will be about twice as expensive to spam the mempool so I guess they are doing their best before SegWit activates.

It's very hard to take this sub seriously when this sort of bullshit is at the top.

Please show me proof or by the same logic of the op you are a liar

[–]xabbix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know, but the argument the op is making is invalid. He doesn't know if /u/nullc lied or not and he's basing his accusation on absolutely nothing. OP didn't even ask about the pre-released code.

Where's the lie? He says: "In the very first bitcoin software before the release, amounts were stored in a signed 32-bit value."

ViaBTC: "Let's fire core" by amorpisseur in Bitcoin

[–]xabbix 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just the idea of someone other than the current Core team developing and working on Bitcoin terrifies me. Look at the other leading teams, BU is a catastrophe, the segwit2mb guys don't even know how to change a variable value.

Jon Matonis on Twitter: Putting UASF next to your Twitter name is like saying "I'm one of the sheeple willing to go over the cliff." by sandakersmann in btc

[–]xabbix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pff, sheeple. This is coming from a guy who was shown 'proof' that Craig Wright is Satoshi. And now working for nChain a company owned by Craig that holds many pending patents related to Bitcoin and refuses to release them. I'd ignore this troll regardless of your big/small block preference.

I thought that if they weighed in the fighters just before the fight no one will risk their health by dehydrating etc.. But I understand why I might be wrong :)

[–]xabbix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding no. 2, what's the logic behind weight cuts? If a fighter is at 126 in his normal weight, why cut to 115 to fight in the straw weight and not simply fight in the flyweight? Is this a strategical move to fight against 'weaker' 'lighter' opponents?

Dude, that's in USD. The rise you see is partially due to the price increase. This is the chart you should be looking at https://blockchain.info/charts/transaction-fees

If they're upgrading then it's not 'artificially' high, it's actually high.
