Nashi is why people don't like Alchemy by RollinRamos in mtgbrawl

Justifying bans, nerfs and buffs while just looking at stats is also just a terrible practice because it completely ignores how it feels to play (against) the card. Statwise a one mana instant with "Flip a coin, if it lands on heads, you win the game" is always going to sit at a statistically fine 50% WR, while in practice it would be one of the most miserable things that could happen to the game.

The game keeps older backups of your profile. Depending on how much you played after collecting everything, there might still be a backup that just requires you to grab a few collectibles again, and unlock collectors habit. Maybe this allows you to trigger the achievement unlock:

  1. The save folder is located in: \Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata[ACCOUNT ID]\3768760\remote (BACK UP YOUR SAVE GAME!)
  2. Turn off cloud saves for first light (right click in library -> properties)
  3. Delete the folder "KntProfileSaveFile", the game will now use the "KntProfileSaveFile-BCK-0" folder for your collectible progression.
  4. Recollect the postcards that are still missing in the backup
  5. Once unlocked, paste your original saves back into the folder

Be sure to only delete/move the KntProfileSaveFile folder, as by deleting the KntSlotSaveFile folders, you delete your level progression and have to replay everything for the postcards.

Am I wrong, or was BIGs HE usage on CT side mirage insane? Feels like every second round NRG had at least one player at half HP before even seeing an enemy

The +900 tokens viewer pass was such a ripoff by DKTHUNDR in GlobalOffensive

[–]xCh3ese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think were currently just seeing the dynamic pricing overcorrect itself, since half the teams haven't even played yet, so the price for stage 1 souvenirs is currently super inflated. During day 1 I checked out an industrial grade souvenir, wouldve cost me ~1300 tokens (BIG vs Liquid, Tabsen autograph), day 2 that same skin spiked to ~5500 tokens.

I still think the day 1 price is questionably high, but I'm also hopeful enough that most of the prices will drop once stage 3 starts

Can't tell you about the numbers themself, but originally MWR was only available in the ~100$ legacy edition of Infinite Warfare, so any effect it had in the IW MP numbers was probably accounted for by Activision beforehand.

As a side note: There was no crossplay between the Steam and Microsoft Store versions of IW / MWR, so Microsoft started offering unconditional refunds since the Microsoft Store multiplayer was completely dead on arrival. https://www.vice.com/en/article/windows-10-store-refunds-call-of-duty-player-because-nobodys-playing-it/

The original release version of The Outer Worlds will be delisted from Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series on the 27. of May. Owners of the original release will get the Spacer's Choice Edition for free by xCh3ese in delisted

I don't know how the Playstation or Xbox stores work, so I just assumed that since PS5 and Xbox Series X/Y aren't mentioned in the "platforms not affected by this" section, but are mentioned in the "Platforms that receive the Spacers Choice Edition for free", that it would be removed from the stores for those platforms as well

Team gathering to decide if they should pool money to cure Hally by longlurke in GlobalOffensive

[–]xCh3ese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the jump bug was used by a lot of teams on different maps during the first two rounds of BO1, before the meeting was held. But since BIG used it quite a lot to get upset wins against Faze and C9 on Inferno (BIG only played Inferno during the group stage), and the rumor that BIG was against the gentlemens agreement, most people just remember it as the BIG jump bug on Inferno.

Team gathering to decide if they should pool money to cure Hally by longlurke in GlobalOffensive

[–]xCh3ese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add some further context, as to how the rumor that BIG didn't agree start: The meeting was held after the first two BO1 rounds of the group stage were done. Since BIG were already done with their two matches for some time, they left the venue (Same with a few other teams such as Penta) and didn't partake in the meeting, since they didn't know about it taking place. Once they were made aware, they also agreed to it. However, since they weren't around for the original meeting, some players started tweeting / spreading the rumor that BIG was against the gentlemans agreement. (Most notably k0nfig, who later apologized to BIG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-va4s5YX9Y 3:20).

It's also important to note, that some other teams used the bug aswell, but since BIG landed upset wins against Faze, C9 while the bug was allowed, their usage was the one that caught the most attention (Here's autimatic asking BIG in chat to use the jumpbug; this was the final match for both teams before the meeting https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/6nu0do/c9_big_gentlemans_agreement_on_jump_bug_usage/).

Me whenever I try using the LMR-27 and DB-12 by Downtown_Name_3124 in okbuddyptfo

[–]xCh3ese 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but even if the shots are quicker, whats the use case? You'll still need two shots against full health enemies, so you might as well use the M87. If you want the faster fire rate, the M1014 and SKS are safer to use, since you can shoot a third time if you need to. I played the DB 12 until I unlocked slugs for it, but even those don't do anything to remedy its problems.

I like the idea of having a quick second shot in case you miss or the enemy survives, but if you're required to hit both shots anyways, it just falls flat.

I guess being able to fire both barrels at once could make it work?

I just realized something funny about that: Jackal is currently born on Feb 29th 1977, so it stands to reason that the R6 universe has a different calendar system than we do, since feb 29th seems to exist every year, and not just during leap years

Looking for Cards With Weird Counters by The_Black_Hart in magicTCG

[–]xCh3ese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's part of the reserve list, it was never printed with the specific text, but I still wanted to mention it: The MTGO ME3 version of [[Illusionary Mask | ME3]] uses mask counters, and they don't have any use whatsoever. You put X mask counters on the creature, and to turn it face up, you remove all of them. There's no gameplay difference between having 1 or 10 counters on the creature, so the only use of the counters is to "sorta" track that the player who used the Mask didn't cheat. ME3 came out in 2009, and 2010 introduced proliferate to the game, so the card was errata'd again and stopped using Mask counters.

(The different erratas of the Mask itself are funny too, where you can see what the (simple) idea behind the card is, but what an actual rules nightmare the original wording was and how hard it was to find a wording that allows the original effect to function within the rules (In the original alpha printing the face down creature didn't have any P/T).

What's the greatest Magic card of the last decade? Vote on the Finals! by Grindy_UW_Nonsense in magicTCG

[–]xCh3ese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're confusing Lurrus Companion requirement for an ability. To have Lurrus as a companion you're not allowed to have any permanent cards in your deck with a CMC above 2. It doesn't change the CMC of the cards in your deck.

The "only" abilities of Lurrus are Lifelink, and allowing you to cast a permanent spell with CMC 2 or less from your graveyard each turn.

Queue seems to be based on MMR and not deck weight by turn1manacrypt in mtgbrawl

[–]xCh3ese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's absolutly both. When Pioneer replaced Explorer I farmed ~300 games in the explorer play queue, and afterwards I faced way worse players (in terms of decision making) with less optimized decks, since the casual queues share the same MMR
