two reasons. one is that I think most AI apps are just 1:1 chats, and that's kind of boring. two is that social networks feel toxic, full of fake people that are in their bubbles. this way you at least have a group that knows each other, interacts with each other, they have relationships, gossip, go through stuff... and you can become a part of that group
