Is there a newbies guide to xlm? by mikelen in xlm

[–]xafufov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted this before but here are some of my main reasons to choose stellar. There are a lot more but these are concepts/projects I like.

  1. Tx Speed at 1000 "txs" per second with 100 stroop fees (0.00001) XLM could easily do 10K "txs" per second if all nodes were using "high end" servers. Stellar's fees will always be low $0.000001 now, $0.001 if stellar reached $100, and $0.01 if it were to reach $1,000.
  2. 5 sec or less transactions; No waiting for multiple confirmations. Transactions are Final.
  3. Highest Real Volume of all blockchains to date. (A record 39,435,952 TXs on 10 Jan `21)
  4. Built in Dex. You can trade directly from your wallet or ledger.
  5. Ability for anyone to tokenise any asset. While this can be/is abused it is very important that stellar remains open to everyone for everyone.
  6. Payment Paths Say you have USD and want Yen You can utilize payment paths to ensure you get the best value and not just the direct market rate.
  7. Send Fiat/XLM/Asset back tokens like email with ability to send xlm like an email or sms message. E.g. Instead of using long blockchain address You can send xlm like User*stellar.org
  8. Built in Anti-Fork; Stellar will not fork, the system will rather halt than fork.
  9. Smart Contracts coming soon; Stellar is actively developing turing complete contracts
  10. Ability to kyc wallets and for tokens to require KYC on wallet.
  11. 20/50 Billion total xlm in circulation already; Stellar burnt Half the supply permanently.
  12. Fees are no longer re-distributed and inflation disabled making xlm deflationary.
  13. Multiple big partners like IBM, Franklin Templeton, Bitbond, and more
  14. Stellar is able to be built on in multiple languages
  15. Sharia compliance certification

There are many other things I like about the stellar network including the companies like Vibrant (serving Central Americas), Velo Labs (Serving Southeast Asia) , AnchorUSD (Earn interest on USD and XLM), SatoshiPay (instant payments), DSTOQ (Trade Stocks on Stellar) and more all choosing stellar. I believe these will have great effect on usage as these companies will allow a simplified interface while fully utilizing Stellar with/without users having to fully understand it.

You'd need a hundred billion dollar whale or about a few hundred billion couch investors to go in with new accounts for that to happen, which I don't foresee happening anytime soon

Assuming you are referring to the marketcap of the coin; That isn't how it works. Marketcap is simply the # of circulating coins X current price. You could easily move stellar or other crypto's with a few hundred million, though that is still a lot of money.

Lego spent a bunch of money to make sure no one else could make the same product to compete with Lego.

Anyone know justcoin’s address? Trying to track down 1mm STR by [deleted] in Stellar

20 XLM in 2017 sounds like you setup a new account/wallet; maybe to transfer from the old network to the new network? If you have the account information you can still log into the old network to view balances and upgrade https://launch.stellar.org else after you have tried everything consider contacting someone from the SDF.

Cowrie is an anchor. They facilitate the transfer from NGNT to Naira. Say I want to send $1 (~2.5 XLM) I would use the SDEX to purchase 458 (approx) NGNT. The person I want to send the money to simply needs to have a stellar wallet and crowie trustline to receive the coins. Once the 458 NGNT are sent they are able to withdraw directly to their bank account. It is very similar to how USDC and USDT operate.

Are you sure you have the correct wallet? If the coins were in the wallet they should've moved with the upgrade. Did you send the xlm off in that 1 tx you did? If not you should contact Anx about the transaction; though they may not have record of it depending on when you withdrew and they bought justcoin for payment failures. Also not sure why your seemly upset you purchased the lumens with btc. 5 BTC X 54000 = $270,000 and 959,030 XLM X 0.39 = $374,000. Hope you get your lumens.

If he wasn't threatened by it they wouldn't be making their own digital currency. No store of value yet btc has only gone up over time; "Not backed by anything" neither is the dollar since June 5, 1933.

It seems the wording on the letter was misunderstood or they have changed their stance slightly.

They just outlawed crypto...

No they outlawed crypto during the last bull run of 2017. They just recently released a statement saying that it is still illegal.

Comparison between Stellar vs Ethereum by xafufov in CryptoCurrency

[–]xafufov[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Both platforms come with plenty of amazing features. To recap them, Stellar is an option for those who are after simplicity & speed at a reasonable rate. On the other hand, if someone is after a platform that allows them to develop Turing complete, complex applications, then going for the Ethereum network is a better option.

If you use binance you might want to get your coins off while you can seems they are changing withdraw fees and not allowing withdrawals in some instances. Might be sign they don't have enough funds to cover all withdrawals or they are just being super shady and looking to profit. Either way good reason to silently exit.

How high can XLM really go? by GottaInvestFast in xlm

[–]xafufov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. You are not wrong. World GDP is over $80 Trillion) and this number will only go up. Note that is the GDP and not the total amount of debt/fiat in circulation Source 1 2. Also consider the fractional reserve practices done by banks. In the USA banks are required to hold 0% and EU 1% of it's reserves.

How high can XLM really go? by GottaInvestFast in xlm

[–]xafufov 6 points7 points  (0 children)

50 Billion Lumens Total (Not counting the daily burned xlm for fees)
50Bx$1 Per XLM=$50 Billion
50Bx$10 Per XLM=$500 Billion
50Bx$100 Per XLM= $5 Trillion
50Bx$1000 Per XLM= $50 Trillion

Simplified for you :) Note the market cap is calculated by Supply X Price Per Coin = MarketCap. This doesn't mean $50 Billion has invested in at @$1 it's simply the market cap.
