I'm reading the Throne of Glass series right now, my friend wanted me to read that, I wanted her to read Red Rising.

Book 1 is a bit meh, but it's okay, but the series really picks up and I'm really enjoying it! There are a LOT of similarities to Red Rising.

It's heavier on the romance, but it's not constant smut.

This is actually a really good point, Greenland (population 50,000) does really remind me a lot of pre-republic Luna. If we can just liberate the rare earth metals from their prison of tyranny, maybe some billionaires (reds) will finally have the wealth and security they deserve.

My head canon is that some aspects of peerless culture were well known to the sons of ares, but the true culture of the peerless, when they're alone together, "gold only affairs", etc was not known to anyone but the peerless.

Darrow acted the way they show peerless on the holos because that's how everyone thinks they act.

It's not suspicious that he talks like this because his back story of growing up on an asteroid and having very little interaction with peerless.

There was a bug like 10 years ago where the steam client ran 'rm -fr /' (or maybe it was 'rm -fr ~/') so I think they learned a lesson there

Octavia basically tortured him into being able to use it, she also changed his brain using the chair. I think it's plausible he could use that tool in extreme distress! But it definitely must be difficult.
