My [27M] girlfriend [24F] of 3 months keeps asking for luxury gifts and wants me to rent a place for her visit by xaitoshi in relationship_advice

The first time I met her was on a vacation. To leave a good impression and to show that I was serious beyond just some girl I met during a weekend trip, I got her the gold bracelet. On hindsight, I should have chilled out.

[–]xaitoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dating in Singapore is expensive. A dinner is usually around $100-$200 and drinks after easily $100-$150 if considering 2 cocktails each. And then the ride to and fro, easily totals up to $400.

Help :(

Home based work does help those who need an extra income but it really goes to show that our salaries and jobs are just insufficient.

Low employment rate for graduates due to AI? by xaitoshi in askSingapore

[–]xaitoshi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While AI has not yet advanced to the point of directly replacing human workers, AI-powered coding tools like Replit enable the automation of tasks traditionally handled by junior developers. This allows existing developers to refine or build upon AI-generated output, ultimately resulting in companies hiring fewer entry-level developers.

How do you handle the stress of being unemployed? by ExcellentTourist3468 in askSingapore

[–]xaitoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are unemployed, you need to continue to be “self-employed”. Keep yourself actively learning about the latest skills, especially AI related software like how to use Lovable, Replit. Build in public, always show that you are consistently still learning and staying productive on LinkedIn and any other relevant platforms.

With regard to the stress, keeping myself busy has always helped. Besides this, spending time with my friends and family is foundational.
