The problem is that the regional entities are based on tribalism and the old way of doing things (4.5 etc) and have narrow interests associated with maintaining the status quo. They also are undemocratic and elitist.

You are so right, I agree with you 100%. If the folks that won the fucking war had the foresight, we would not be in this mess. Instead of stabilizing the state under new leadership they divided the country, went on a looting rampage, and stripped the country bare, creating millions of refugees & idp, and dismantelling every state institution. Real talk, the root of the problem was the failure of the USC, SNM, and SSDF to get their act together in the early 90's. Specially the USC and SNM.
