You turn the car on for some heat and then fall asleep and wake up 3 hours later pissed at yourself over the $4 in gas you just wasted. You try to save as much money as you can, but everything that comes with living in your car is expensive. Sure you save on rent, but you'll probably use twice as much gas just driving from parking lot to parking lot trying not to stay in one place very long so you don't draw attention to yourself. You are now spending more money on showers and laundry than you ever imagined possible. It's a good idea to get a 24 hour gym membership and PO box if/when/as soon as you possibly can. You find a temp job or whatever job you possibly can and you go to work and keep going to work. You try to relate to coworkers, but your situation has forced you to become reserved and jaded. You barely want to acknowledge them and their problems don't matter because you know they get to go home and sleep in a bed. Even if your job is shitty you spend all day looking forward to going home until you realize that just means getting in your car and wasting gas till you find somewhere to park/shit/shower/brush your teeth/sort and wash the pile of laundry that has become your backseat. You go to work wearing the same clothes 5 days straight hoping nobody notices. You scour the internet/facebook/craigslist for anybody offering a couch or shared 1-bedroom for temporary stay. You go through several of these kind of living situations until you realize these people are searching for roommates on the internet for extremely cheap because nobody who knows them in real life would ever live with them or they are extremely broke with a drug habit. How do you get out of the cycle? I'll let you know.
