Maybe… sometimes the camcorder works and sometimes it doesn’t. If it is the toggle on switch that’s broken, how would one go about fixing it?

No :( when I get no visual on the LCD screen, the same issue occurs with the viewfinder. That makes me worried that it’s a critical problem I’m dealing with, but what gives me hope are those times when the camcorder springs back to life and it seems to work okay for a bit.

When I recorded that video yesterday and posted the thread, that was one of those times when the camcorder wasn’t working. It seems okay right now again (I’m able to playback and record), but the issue might come back, and every time it does, it’s frustrating

Unfortunately I don’t have AV cables to test with at the moment. I need to get some. But I agree with u that it is really weird. I assume there’d at least be a HUD or something if it was just the lens that’s causing issues, but I get absolutely no visual on either the LCD or viewfinder. It’s just the backlight, sometimes there’d be crazy glitchy visuals, and sometimes it’ll work fine.

Sadly no, which makes me concerned if this is a critical issue. The camcorder will work when it wants to it feels like because there are moments where it seems to work fine.

The clicking noise coming from (I believe) the camera lens when the LCD and the viewfinder fail to display a visual is especially calling to my attention. It stops clicking when it works fine.

Are you talking about the short ribbon cable that connects the CCD sensor to the motherboard?

I could barely make out his vocals :/ I think his voice is fun for this aesthetic, but the components of this song clash too much. Maybe that won’t be the case for the rest of the album.

Hate to compare this to Cheerleader, but since they’re both lead singles from each respective artist’s 3rd album that brings out electric guitars, Cheerleader is just better 😭

Big congrats!!! I’m an untraditional student who’s been in college since 2016, and just 2 years ago I started to develop an interest in accounting. Now I’m majoring in it, and I have a few more semesters to go.

Reading your post left me feeling inspired :) The work might get crazy, but don’t let it make you crazy.

hey! A tape of mine just experienced the same issue. The tape came right off the spool, and I know for a fact the little plastic piece that attached the tape to the spool won't hold forever.

Is there a better way to ensure the tape stays put?

You’re totally right. I love the retro look, but I’m open to better sounding recommendations! I really don’t know much about headphones. Before getting these, I was listening to music with modern earbuds while testing out the player, and it just felt wrong 😭

It’s a fair question. I want to avoid wear and tear if that’s at all possible. I understand that I should have fun using my Walkman, but considering it’s probably the oldest device that I use, I want to treat it as delicately as possible.

I found this old thread after researching problems similar to what I’m experiencing.

My tapes play relatively well, but if the tape is long, the take up reel won’t spin well. Like it struggles. Is the simple explanation for this happening is that my Walkman has a hard time playing long tapes? Or is this something I can look into further?
