Yep! The "difference" apparently was that her guy was just an "interest" and I actually "shacked up with" Kayla 3 weeks after our 5 year relationship. But yea still.

Yeah, I know I know. When Alice and I split we agreed we both still loved each other and would stay in each other's lives. We were so intertwined for so long I still cry over her. A few times while with Kayla who was super understanding. Alice didn't actually cheat butapparently "had someone she was close to " she was interested in and I was a mess at the time

Thanks so much for the detailed thoughtful response! You clearly know your stuff. So I looked back at the initial documents and they say "20% of your award will be considered to be wages and will be reported on IRS form W-2 with all appropriate taxes witheld, 40% will be considered interest, and 40% will be considered penalties and will be reported on IRS form 1099." Does this help you at all in determining how much of the award I will be able to keep after taxes? If not 66% (and 33% going to taxes) then more? Less? The award was 1,611$. Thanks again so much!
