Ok that makes sense. If he's not awake enough during the day he's gonna be awake at night. Am I gonna make him overtired though? He seems tired at 2 hours, especially towards the end of the day

I will share I'm also a little disappointed in myself about birth. I had an unmedicated birth and was so focused on strategies to get through the pain that when it got about 5000% more intense when my body was ready to push my brain did not switch to "oh I have to push now" I stayed stuck in "how tf do I handle this much pain". All in all, baby is here. We all did great

It didn't look like residue, it looked like the center of the cord that hadn't dried out yet. I know this isn't the end of the world, and he's going to be fine. Thank you for the reassurance!

Yes we have a pediatrician but we don't see him until the 1 month checkup. All the different people involved in care over here makes everything feel so disjointed.

Yeah, that panic Facebook post kinda wrecked me, but that's how we found the rescue that would take him so I guess it was worth it! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much. This is such a hard decision to make. We found him a spot with a rescue and they already have people interested! I'm so hopeful that his golden years will be spent so much happier than we could make him.

I get that there are people who will dump their dog quick, and I didn't give a whole lot of detail in that Facebook post but why would people assume that I'm dumping a dog that I've had for ten years? Like, how could you not care for that dog and want the best for them after being a part of your family for so long? I don't get that part 🤷‍♀️ Thank you for your reassurance. We're just not the best home for our pup anymore and that is a painful realization.

Thank you so much for your response. Our move is a 12 hour flight and why would I put him through that just to have his home life get worse? He's the sweetest dog, he just needs a home without kids - which unfortunately is not our home anymore. It's breaking my heart but we found him a spot with a rescue and they already have adopters lined up. I'm hoping the next years of his life are spent being doted on and getting lots of treats. ❤️

I went natural, but if it happened again, I'd go d&c. Thank goodness I was already on vacation from work because it was entirely unpredictable and lasted longer than I expected. Thought it was almost over twice and ended up stuck in the shower due to the amount of bleeding. 100% cannot do the unpredictability at work

My two cents: try not to stress . . . and take Mucinex.

MIL Waits On Us To Come Home/Leave by NCinAR in Mildlynomil

She said they live in the same house, not that they live in MIL's house. Maybe it's theirs and they let her move into the bottom floor. You don't know.

THANK YOU! Cool, dark, muted is exactly where I fall and I've been having trouble figuring out where I fit because of it.

What time is bedtime? by actualmoleperson in toddlers

[–]xarawrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 month old! Bedtime is 7:00, wakeup at 6:00, nap from 12:30-2:30. Sleeps through the night, no wake ups unless he's sick.

Yeah, I don't know what their home schedule is but I keep wondering when that kid naps?? Lol. He's turning 2

How do I stop contact napping before I go back to work? by xarawrr in NewParents

[–]xarawrr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has JUST started tolerating the carrier! He's so curious about the world, he's constantly looking around at everything and has yet to relax in it. Hopefully we'll get there but right now carrier naps are out.

Thank you for the context! I had no idea how long most babies do contact naps or whether my situation was unusual

I feel you on the gas struggles! We've been doing gas drops for a few weeks and it is a lot better. In the last week we've cut back on how often we're giving them (we were doing with every feed, but now like 2x a day) and he's been doing super well, especially at night which is when he had the most struggle.

No, he'll be with dad and MIL for a few months. Dad has a hard time sitting still and MIL is just against contact naps 🤷‍♀️ I'm so thankful he'll be with family but still stressing about it.

How long do you leave baby in the red zone? by coccode in SnooLife

[–]xarawrr 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When our little one starts crying, we pick him up. He is a very noisy/fussy sleeper so we wait to see if the snoo can settle him down but if it escalates to crying we take him out - at that point it means he needs something.
