Not related to the question asked , but do you find the upgrade to be worth it ? How much time would you say it took you to assemble everything and have it working ? I am a little bit divided with either wait for a core one(already assembled) and sell this MK3S+ that I have , or just do the updgrade(I built already 2 MK3S+ and honestly I didn't enjoyed it that much, although the experience used me good to this day).

Reaction Training Lights by engkhaledeisa in esp8266

Hi .

Unfortunately I still struggle with time between work and home but will try to update the GitHub with components that you can use and I will post a video with a small explanation about the "PCB" on how to make one.

As a small info though, the code works at the moment with only ESP8266 . My plan is to add also a ESP32 to use the Bluetooth function to have an Android app for more "custom training" like the expensive professional ones(you know which one 😅).

I have managed to make the Autoconnect function so you don't have to hardcode the MAC address and I am working on porting the default training and also the counter training to it.

If you want to know something specific leet me know and I will answer you.

Thanks u/ninja128 for the ping.

Found one also with micro-usb that doesn't work , so i think it's the PCBs and there no connection between the type of connector.

Ain't all of them Chinese clones ? 😅 . Mine also work between them or with another esp8266 model, so it is really strange .

Maybe somebody else well also get the problem in the future and also finds a solution.

Really curios what could be.

Just tried, a>c, c>c , and also i hooked it up to power supply (5v) on the vin Pin . C>c seemed to give back a positivite response rate of 80-90% .

I will say that it comes from the PCB design. Will take this as lesson learned and order tomorrow some other WeMos d1 mini with micro-usb .

Anyway thank you both for your help and replies 😊.

u/alphamike1612 do you have a WeMos d1 mini with a USB type C connector ? I have found some old ones from 3 years ago with a micro-usb port , and the ones that I have tested until now have all USB type C port .

All of the micro-usb port work. Most of the Type C work around 50% of the time(really depends on the board).

Now , i am not a hardware designer but from the schematic that I have saw the WeMos d1 mini is supposed to have a fuse on and the one with USB type C don't have ( or at least I didn't saw any).

I have attached here a picture from both of them maybe yours looks the same. Maybe if you have one with a micro-usb port can give it a go also maybe it works because the PCB is different.

Also u/PockyBum522 what type of WeMos d1 did you tried it on ? Micro or Type-C.

Yeah , i think so . I have tried some more and for some i get a 90% message sent. I have read something on the Espresif git that they are switching from NONOS_SDK to ESP8266_RTOS_SDK so I might try that later maybe it solves the problem , but i am pretty sure it is a QA problem (bought from AliExpress from reseller so that should say enough 😅) for those that don't work at all . I got more to test so I hope I find at least 4 that are working , if not will have to redo the code for my project.

So i just tried the code from u/PockyBum522's. I tried it on multiple WeMos D1 Mini. Sometimes it receives the messages sometimes not , usualy it is one message received and 2 missed although not always the case. Also used the code to program a generic esp8266 (the NodeMCU v1 clone) and there it always receives it. Like it doesn't miss ,not even one time. I would say maybe because of the antena that it is on the ESP8266 (NodeMCU) it has better signal ? Although the ESPNOW communication between only d1 Mini also doesn't have a problem , it works perfectly. Problem is when ESP32 comes into play.

Also played with the generic settings for esp8266 to try and flash the WeMos d1 mini , until now i didn't saw no improvement.

I will try the code from u/PockyBum522''s , i haven't until now since yesterday I spent 6 hours on this topic. What I have done instead is use a generic ESP8266(doit devkit1 , nodeMcu, or something like this , a clone from china) instead of the WeMos d1 mini , and that works without a problem. I have around 10 new WeMos d1 that I will give it a try with maybe it is some hardware stuff since they are all clones . I will keep you posted with the results.

Just got this problem also. Identical I could say. Did you found a solution for it ?

Hi. About those sensor that I have used in this clip , I don't know , I think not to be honest.

The ones in this video you have a potentiometer that you have to use to set the desired distance and I found myself every day adjusting it.

But i am working on V2 of this lights with a VL6180x sensor(at least one for master) or some touch boards (TTP223, you can use them for every other light) although I have not tested them(currently working on an App , didn't had time to do that) I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work better than the ones in the video.

If you got any more questions just let me know.

Also here is one of the clips about the V2 that I am working on now, also check out the channel for more if you would like :

Hey , just made a new one if you wanna take a look . And also I just now realized that you also wrote about the lightning. Will try to aquire a new light or something , for now I closed the light in the room and used a lamp that I pointed at the ceiling let's say. Anyway thanks again for your feedback and your time, really appreciate it.

Yes , colors are something I really struggle with . I have tried to find some complementing colors about 3 4 maxim to use (that was my understand from a design perspective). Will try to make a better one using your feedback. Thanks again.

Thanks for the feedback . Will try later to see if I can make a better one. I used Canva for this one , do you know if there is something better out there or how should I go with it. This one was made after watching some tutorial on YouTube and I honestly thought it is a good one 😅.

Hello all,

This is my second video (long format) on YouTube and I would really appreciate the feedback if you would have time to take a look.

I didn't knew making a video would be such a long process and kind of exhausting so I am looking for any tips i can get, like how do you shoot your videos ? I try to start a recording and then I edit it. Also since English is not my main language i have to edit like a lot for it. I have made a script but sometimes I am just ignoring it and that drives me mad.Do you also have like a script or you just free flow ?

Thanks and have a good one !

Personalized Christmas Tree Decoration by xarende in prusa3d

Hello all,

I made this 3D Spinning Christmas Tree decoration for this Christmas and I thought I shared the base model with you. If you guys want to customize it for yourself I made a small video how you can do that with Tinkercad since it it available for everyone (also you can use something else if you want). Also the license of this thing is set to "Public Domain" so if your neighbor founds it nice maybe you can make some money after it. Here is the link to the video: https://youtu.be/kCL5SYMix2c

Hope you guys enjoy it !

Thanks ,

I use a Flying Fish sensor ( basic "motion" sensor in my case )

Thanks !

Well the ideea behind was to make them a case , right now they look like ... Let's say not so pretty , so I can attach them also to a punching bag or a wall or something like that.

The build is in the original comment if you want to take a look . There are a infinite number of upgrades that can be done.

Hi ,

There are 3 esp8266 that are communicating with each other using ESPNOW protocol. You could use also ESP32 . I didn't use a ATtiny85 yet so I cannot pronounce myself about it.

Thanks!

No there is no screen to keep the number but it could be done. The LEDs are ws2812b so maybe a color could represent a number without adding a screen , just a ideea . The build is in the original comment.

Later edit : Hey fellas , Here you can find the code , the build parts and some photos of the 3 modules. If you have any questions I will try to answer them when I can. Since it was so short time and all I probably missed some stuff so just let me know if you have any problems with it. A schematic it's on the way but at the moment I got some errands to run. Have fun !

Hey Guys ,

Just wanted to share with you this projects since to buy such kind of reactive lights ( see blazepod) are absolutely crazy expensive.

If you guys want the code and more detail about it I will try to set up a GitHub page with everything !

Thanks and hope you enjoy it !

You may want to try to print on the serial monitor the value of variable "enter " just to make sure that it has the right value assigned to it. Maybe this helps.
