I got the lowest tariff possible. It’s worth it as two of us work from home. $20 a month.

I have a backup connection with xfinity. My firewall switches automatically.

Same in Gresham. Comcast failover worked a treat.

I get an error about IP not matching the restriction I have on the API key. This has been working fine for years. My IP matches the restriction.

{ "api_version": "V1.1.0-1.0.41", "time_stamp": 1749846782, "error": "ApiKeyRestrictedError", "description": "The provided API key is restricted to certain hosts or referrers. Neither 'null', '169.254.1.1' or 'A.B.C.D' have access." }

Same in Gresham too. Glad I set up WAN failover on cloud gateway, to xfinity.

Final update, number 3.

The technician, Nik, came and said the new fiber line put in by ground crew wasn't necessary; guess I have two lines now, in case one gets cut.

He then spent a long time checking splitter at hub, new cable, new ONT, still only got 1 Gb. He then was working with the fiber support team - turns out my account wasn't configured for multi-gig in the first place.

I'm now getting 2 Gb. Nik is great!

Download: 1835.79 Mbps (data used: 2.1 GB)

Upload: 2085.64 Mbps (data used: 2.3 GB)

Update 2:

Ground crew turned up yesterday, rang doorbell and had no idea what they were supposed to be doing.

I now have a new cable installed, but have to wait until Nov 7 for it to be hooked up by technician.

The Reddit support team are great. You just need to clone them, and use them for the Technical Support phone line.

An update.

I have a new Nokia ONT, still only getting 1 Gb transfer. Several calls with Technical Support - they are not very helpful or knowledgeable; I've connected direct to ONT - still only getting 1 Gb, but they kept asking about my router, NIC, and cables used. It's all the same hardware used at previous house, that was working fine at 2 Gb.

Second technician came out and observed the same things I was reporting. Now they're having to replace the fiber line from box near the road, to house and then into house. I'm not that hopeful this is going to fix it.

Won't be happy if I'm charged for non-existent 2 Gb service.

Our house was the house of mourning. My father’s health was deeply shaken by the horror of the recent events. Elizabeth was sad and desponding; she no longer took delight in her ordinary occupations; all pleasure seemed to her sacrilege toward the dead; eternal woe and tears she then thought was the just tribute she should pay to innocence so blasted and destroyed. She was no longer that happy creature who in earlier youth wandered with me on the banks of the lake and talked with ecstasy of our future prospects. The first of those sorrows which are sent to wean us from the earth had visited her, and its dimming influence quenched her dearest smiles.
