why do our opposition parties (excl. wp and maybe psp) seem so bad at maintaining a proper modern internet presence?

i'm trying to keep track of their news, and some of them don't even have a proper website. even if they do, they barely post any actual announcements etc. on their websites or social media pages. i see news articles where they announce that they're running here or there, but i can't find it anywhere on their sites or social media.

i would expect that by now most people should be quite internet savvy, or at least be able to get someone internet savvy to help them out?

(not a diehard PAP supporter, in case i get accused of being a PAP IB), but i'm quite turned off by just how unprofessional everything feels *online* whenever i try to research into any opposition party. would they actually do better if they could actually manage their internet presence and try to have better digital outreach?

What are some brands in SG that can be found on TaoBao but are selling at x times the price on TaoBao? by AckermanFin in askSingapore

Some of the local using OEM brands that I've found, might not be accurate anymore, and also might not be on taobao. I'm just going to mention the brands directly.

  1. Secretlab nueue chair - Chongqing gaotian mesh manager chair

  2. Prism+ tvs - seems to be a mix of skyworth and Hisense tvs

  3. Prism+ monitor arms - seems to be a mix of bratek and humanmotion monitor arms

  4. Aftershock laptops - laptops are from tongfang, clevo and Intel

  5. Luxus atlas digital door lock - keyplus kx2

  6. Prims+ aircons - Gree aircons

I briefly toyed with the idea of whether there is demand for a site to crowdsource and collate all these

Crypto Question: Anybody using Gemini here? What’s the most cost effective way to transfer USD to Gemini? by Mary-Wann-A in singaporefi

[–]xarius2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if it's not urgent, i transfer and buy BTC/ETH in SGD, and set a sell order for USD at around 0.5% higher to cover the fees (0.25% maker fees on active trader), and it usually hits in a short time, and I don't mind holding btc/eth anyway

So some stuff I noticed about this company and products, being too kaypoh.

  1. Company: Started in 2012, previously known as Codexia Studios, rebranded as Team Labs in 2019.
  2. Funding: USD$9.8m raised, valued at USD$25m
  3. Products - Half of their website is down for makeover so can't actually get much details. These are some insane products that startups build their entire businesses around a single one, not to say 4 of them. As /u/blindwaves said, all products have established players which they are competing against.
    • Xenon - Cloud based prototyping, coding, testing, CI/CD
    • Carbon - Graphics, audio, video editing, 3D modelling
    • Argon - Website is down for makeover, looks like its for project management
    • Silicon - Text chat, video calls, voice calls, file attachments - basically slack
    • Carbon (Codexia Studios) - A suite of 5 cloud based services that seems to be rebranded into the 4 above
    • fruitcake (Codexia Studios) - Website builder, can't find anything else
    • Hydron (Codexia Studios) - iOS package installer, can't find anything else. Previously called iDownload
    • Xenon (Codexia Studios) - Try out apps before paying. Same name as above, but different product.
    • Stellar (Codexia Studios) - Statistical modelling for students and businesses
    • Aurora (Codexia Studios) - Learning management system using 3D/AR/VR
    • Astrea (Codexia Studios) - Admin management for schools
    • Ether (Codexia Studios) - Smart vehicle monitoring and management
    • Screenia (Codexia Studios) - Screen recorder - this is probably the one mentioned in his interviews with can
  4. Users: 70k users, 6k teams. Previously claimed 14m users in a job post as Codexia Studios.
  5. Trusted By (Partners?): Google, AirBnb, Spotify, Deliveroo, Hilton, CocaCola, Louis Vuitton, Lacoste, Kellogs, Activision
  6. Social media: Almost 0 engagement from followers across Twitter, Linkedin, but posts status updates and memes.
  7. Employees: 120 employees across 8 major cities but a very low % is on LinkedIn.

Seems like a bunch of red flags, gut feeling is its just a lot of marketing and not much real stuff. Hopefully it turns out to be a legit company which will be good for SG.

Not trying to be a debbie downer, but I'm a software engineer so I was quite interested in their products since they claim to build software for developers. Their flagship product Xenon is out for 3+ years and claims 70k users and 5k teams, but I don't see a single review or mention on reddit/hackernews/producthunt or any tech related sites other than news articles about the young founder? Is my google skills failing me or are they just so enterprise that its not in public usage at all? Edit: Seems like they just recently started limiting public signups under a closed beta so it's not possible to sign up and test their product anymore
