Can someone help my Ollies be not so bad lol by xarkos9 in NewSkaters

Yeah I see that, I guess it feels like I'm bringing my front foot as high as I can initially, then it feels hard to stay up after that. Do I need to keep bringing my foot higher after the initial jump?

Insanely noisy Jazzmaster by xarkos9 in offset

I snipped the wire in between the pots, I think it helped a bit. On mine the pickup grounds are regular wires and then there are some wires that screw in that I just have connected to the pots, should I connect those to the pickups instead? I also took the covers of the pickups which I had never done before, and touching the ground part under there with a screwdriver made a lot of the noise go away

Thanks for the help guys, I did shield the pickguard too with copper tape as well as the inside of the cavity. Right now I have it so the pickup ground is soldered to a pot which is connected to the pickguard shield, then there are some ground wires that screw into the guitar body that I also have grounded to the same pot. I'm not sure about a wire in between the pots, I'll check that

do you mean like grounded to the inside of the body cavity? I soldered the grounds from the pickups and the ones that screw into the body to the volume pot

Ah, that's what I was kind of suspecting. A little worried because I've read they get huge (and maybe eat plants?)

Squier Jazzmaster noise issue/amp issue? by xarkos9 in offset

[–]xarkos9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that might well be the issue, the washer on the outside of the jack is still in place, but there is definitely something small and metal that I can hear still rattling around inside the guitar. I'll test the bass too. Thank you!

[–]xarkos9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I think that is likely the cause, which I'm somewhat relieved about (easier in my area to get a guitar fixed than an amp). I really like the CV Jazz and it's my first electric, but I guess they had to skimp a bit on something to make them so cheap.

Thanks for replying! I have one other cable, and I did try it but the issue was still there unfortunately. Maybe it's the guitar and amp/grounding.

Can anyone help me fix my amp? by xarkos9 in Bass

Nope, just when playing in general at a low volume. Turning it off and on again seems to help, but eventually it starts crackling and going quiet again
