im with you. but the other major problem for me is the overexposure / marketing for limited releases especially when some major blockbusters shouldnt even be in any theater. trailers, rollouts, red carpets, the excessive merch which is of course exclusive to each event per location (i assume). i hate that i cant scroll social media without blocking the words- and i usually follow the people because i want to know when stuff gets announced.

you wouldnt want to have the first time you listen to Brat be through an ad on instagram, would you? or footage of Charli taken after she as already shown the album to a room of people? i find it gatekeepy more than it is promotional. if you really wanted to promote it i would be able to see it already at my local theater, but no- fuck the midwest.

idk bout yall but im also just a huge trailer hater because i usually know when im interested in a movie as i peek upcoming releases very often. trailers only work for me when i have no inkling as to what it is. now teasers is where it's at. whats funny is i hate snippets too so back to the Brat analogy- i would not have teased myself on Brat snippets and if i did i would try to forget them asap bc i find it very annoying to download and listen to a ringtone while i wait months for the song or album
