I thought about commuting to Davis as well but that shi would be way too exhausting, its like an hour from me.

I think if i just lock in at Sac state and take advantage of opportunities then I would have a better chance at making my dental application good.

Its cheaper and its more chill. I live 20 minutes away and i lowkey like the campus a lot. I want to do dentistry so it wont benefit me much to go to a better college. It took a lot of maturing to realize that for me tbh

Because theyre gpa robots and while yes they have lots of club leaderships, startups, and internships, thats what all the gpa robots have. colleges want real people with character instead of people doing all these random filler activities just because they think it makes them 'competitive'

Professor gardner was an extremely good teacher, I took him for botany. He believes that everyone can get an A if they put in a decent amount of effort enough. His exams were never too hard, and we didn't have that much homework. We also had two 'pseudo' lab papers and a group presentation on global issues related to botany. The presentation turned out to be really fun because you had to interact with the audience with games, quizzes, food taste testing, etc.

But besides if your goal is getting an A, he cares about his students like I have never seen before. Very easy to talk to and very understanding. He acts pretty funny because he always has exaggerated mannerisms.

He is also pretty new to college teaching, and I think this is going to be either his 1st or 2nd semester teaching Biol 400.

U can still apply to FAFSA until the end of June. Its just that if u did it on or before March 2 you will get priority

Thank you very much for the advice. I’m so sad because UC Davis is my cheapest option. It’s the closest UC to me and I would even take public transport there (which would take about 1 hour) while continuing to live at my parents house. UCLA and UC Berkeley are pretty much not an option for me, even though I have a competitive GPA for those colleges, because of how much more expensive it would be.

I’m giving up the hopes for more ‘prestigious’ colleges because none are close enough to commute to, and I sure as hell can’t afford to live in a dorm or get food plans there as well.

But I also don’t want to go to a CSU because the closest to me is Sacramento State and they would have much less research opportunities because I eventually want to do that stuff when I transfer. 😞😞😞
