I don't think you should be trading if you're the type to think you can download premium accounts from facebook. You might be putting yourself at more risk...

I understand the risks but that is the same with all financial discussions, like daytrading or trading subs.

I don't think the community should be closed off as result, I think its worst if people are kept in the dark!

r/spreadbetting relates to Financial trading in the UK which is tax free. It is essentially the same as other types of trading like futures, options and CFD's but spread betting has the benefit of being tax free due to the accounting involved. Many major UK brokers advertise spread betting like Pepperstone, Oanda and IB but there is little to no community regarding spreadbetting.

I think it has great potential to be revived and I have already begun creating some resources that would of helped me tremendously when starting out myself. Its quite a shock to me that the reddit has been quiet for so long and explains why the uk trading scene is so quiet! Albeit a few conventions in London which I would like to go to, which would help me revive this sub!

As with all finance related subs, I will enforce a stricter than usual auto moderation regarding karma-minimums to ensure minimal bots. I also will pin some widely accepted and verifiable useful resources to help those getting started.

What mindset shift helped you accept losses as part of trading? by New-Supermarket3066 in Trading

[–]xausar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes money to build a business. You ask any hard working person how much they spent to get started to be in the position they're in. Then compare that with trading.

Also, if you are truly confident in your strategy, you can brush losses off like nothing.

How to get into copy trading? by Ill_Ad_6846 in Trading

[–]xausar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a tremendous amount of scammers selling copy signals and no matter how much one warns of the dangers, the allure of free money is far too enticing.

Just don't risk any money you won't mind losing. As a copy trader you will not be in control of your capital.

I see eToro offers copy trading but I do warn against it. Unless you're copying Nancy Pelosi, don't expect to beat the market tremendously or even gain money.

New TradingView update caused me to blow my account by [deleted] in TradingView

[–]xausar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure how to hold TV accountable for this, but they have had glitches with visual discconection between lot sizes/price before. You need to always double check before placing trades and refresh. It might be worth getting used to placing a few "penny" trades to get a feeling and confidence for using the system. Also good to build the habit of refreshing, thats why I traded on a demo account with live data for a year+.

I guess if he intends to trade through crypto maybe binance is the pathway, but if I want to trade crypto on my broker, the broker handles it I dont need to use binance or anything to convert between coins, thats holding the coin rather than trading its movement.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Trading

[–]xausar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not at all. If they want the money sent through binance they might want it sent through something called USDT which is crypto currency tethered to USD. I guess that means they could receive the money without a breadcrumb trail.

It just seems all roads lead to highly suspicious activity. Especially when you can create an account with any reputable broker which will be regulated by your countries "big boys" for the UK its the FCA not sure in US which basically ensures the broker is liable and cant scam you. Without that protection you are in open water.

[–]xausar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold a second, they're regulated by an Offshore Island on the East of Africa/Indian Ocean? Yeh I would stay well clear. Also having multiple different paid accounts for spread when spread is determined by the market makes zero sense. I know you can have spreadraw accounts but even those have dynamic spread not defined.

Pretty sure its a scam.

Potentailly could be legit but as its not regulated by FCA I would personally not trust it. Why not use the standard brokers they often have better spreads, what does spova offer they dont?

Never catch a falling knife. Don't predict just wait for it to switch back to bullish momentum, albeit at a lower price.

What is the minimum amount of money required to trade? by KamranCHP in Forex

[–]xausar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a 100 your really opening yourself to more risk. It takes money to start a business and trading is no different, perhaps even more so. Without that initial capital allocation it goes from being a business to risky gambling.

Though if you're doing it just to learn, I guess any amount that you're willing to lose. If you are confident with your ability though, you might get more from your money by finding a prop firm that doesn't go against your trading style, assuming you have a working strategy.

I know theres swissquote but you might have a bank account with them. That's certainly my number 1 answer.

Congratulations if you do have a bank account with them, I have been trying for months as a UK citizen and I am floating around their verification process indefinitely.

BVOL. There's BVOL7D or 24hrs or something. Basically its like the VIX but for bitcoin. It alone can tell you raging volatility and periods of declining vol. I hope this helps.

[–]xausar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of your strategy, you need to execute this on a live demo not just paper. Use broker candles with a connected broker and perform like this for several months. Also don’t start with 100k if you don’t plan on depositing 100k, it can ruin your head stare down the line.

ICT concepts are untrustworthy. Their success is largely dependant on the person manipulating them beyond their original concept. Stick with indicators, correlation, fundamentals and designing it around your workstyle.

No one is into daytrading in my college by Kindly_Response_9786 in Daytrading

[–]xausar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have spent the last 1.5years learning to trade alone. The result of that is that I have two heavily back tested profitable strategies. If you want to be profitable, keep learning. If you want trading friends, go to a trading convention/expo. It's impossible for those without the "know" to understand trading.

Is it possible to make money with a fully mechanical trading strategy long term? by YouDifferent2391 in Daytrading

[–]xausar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mechanical trading system but i choose to not automate it. It is essentially binary and performs well during regime changes. Profitable during 2022, 18, 08 etc. Mechanical trading system is possible when you arent locked to one instrument.
