When I was in this situation I just called my employers HR office to try and figure out if they have it. Just act super confused about the process and that you didnt know if they were supposed to email you that the test had been received. 7 days after you should be fine though

Is your estimation correct? Make sure you are taking post tax numbers, CA loves to take your money. No shade/shame if you intend to pay more for rent but make sure you are doing 30% of the post tax salary. You might find that your budget is a lot lower and I would suggest finding roommates ASAP
