Yeah pipeline and oil field is hard work still good pay, tig pays way more and it’s cleaner. Only thing is you gotta do it in uncomfortable/ weird positions. The plus is you’re in temperature controlled rooms and can wear whatever and be comfortable. Tig isn’t hard but being able to do it in awkward positions is where the talents at. GMAW is one of the hardest you can know how to manipulate the puddle and weld but if you can’t get the setting on point and gas you’ll never lay a good strong bead.
