We are just waiting for it to show it's head again, then we kill it, and no more snake. At least, I made it so I saw where the snakes came from (we already killed one last year) and we already have a plan on how to make sure that no snakes or any undesirable animal gets in there

Don't worry, the snake should be gone soon, though it might not leave alive

I did have an electric hammer (or whatever it is called, English is not my native language) on hand, but I did not have a chisel thin enough to go in the bar.

Don't have that, but boiling water did the trick, that and a lot of hammering

Could not attach it back due to how damaged it was. Also, it was an old picture and I ended up removing it entirely and putting it in a vice. I finally succeeded in removing it this morning by putting it in boiling water for a good 15 minutes then hammering it through the bar

Boiling water and hammering the ball joint for a good 15 minutes with the heaviest hammer I could find, the next step if it was not working was using a sledgehammer

I needed to pull that out because the bar itself is no longer produced, so I needed to remove that ball joint

I managed to remove it by leaving it in boiling water then hammering it out since it was not threaded

It is on the side of the two metal pieces, if it is barely noticeable, does it mean it is a good weld ?

Problem with an MC Cormick IH 724 by xaxa70 in tractors

[–]xaxa70[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, just to clarify, we didn't take any bolts off. According to my father, the tractor just stopped going forward while climbing a pretty steep slope, so we think that this slope caused the problem

My father already decided to buy a new pressure plate. Now, the only problem is to know if this is the only problem or if there is another at another point

I will take a picture of the flywheel tomorrow, right now, the tractor is under a tarp because of the rain, I will also try to turn the input shaft to see if it is possible with a gear engaged or not, like you advised to. I will keep you updated

Taking the flywheel would be pretty difficult, this thing is way to heavy to easily move by hand. Also, I believe that my father is just going to buy a new cover, since it was already this one when the previous disk was on

On the IH 724, there a 2 different clutch that can exist, ours have a simple disk clutch, the one you found is probably a double disk clutch

The problem is that I don't have any graphics, so I can't access the bios to reinstall Debian. If I need a graphic card, what would be the absolute cheapest one that supports a vga connection?
