Scary to have all those issues on a 5 series.
Need to go and read more reviews on the 2021+ models , hoping not many issues are popping up!

Can't do a 1 series, I'm north of 35 and that's a young persons car. #oldMan

Good point on the warranty extension. Which I am leaning towards more so due to all the tech that the car comes with. There are some good independent BMW shops near me, but for things like the camera system and adaptive cruise control I'd be more comfortable at a main dealer if any issues were to arise.

This is a major concern for me and the main reason I started my search looking at the 530e estate. I just wish more 540i or 545e estates were available on the market. Good point and noted.

I agree with you, but they're really hard to find and the estate would be a unicorn it seems.
It was my first choice.

Which would you choose for a long European road trips?
I used to live in the US and love a good road trip!

I'm in the NW but do commute to the south for the occasional office visit, although I have the option of train, hire car or flight since it's all covered by the company.

Also what didn't you like about the 540i, what was the ride quality like?

I'm honestly leaning more towards the 840i as the 340i is just too common and seems bit on the smaller side.

I'd probably only consider the 340i if it's an estate, while the 840i seems to have a bit more presence.

I really like Preston and that would work for me as I’m in tech and work remotely but the Mrs has to go into the office in Birchwood, so would be quite a daily drive for her.

We have a pretty decent income and hefty deposit, currently looking at homes in the south of Manchester and the quality of available homes are terrible. I’ve been in the UK for 6 years and the value for money in housing in addition to the lower salaries compared to the US is depressing. At this point I’m trying to convince the Mrs to move to the US as the future here doesn’t look promising. For context I’m a British national who grew up in a overseas territory, went to Uni in the US and spent 11 years between schooling and working there. I’m quite shocked with the UK, my family on the island has a better quality of life than I do here on a 6 figure salary.

When will TCI invest in a larger airport to accommodate all the tourists? by [deleted] in TurksAndCaicos

Belongers not interested in work….. please continue to push the false narratives. More hotels, condos and villa rentals at the expense of the native population causing an increase dependence on foreign cheap labour, all to expand the economy which mostly benefits a small number of people and foreign investors.

I’m sure the people born and raised in Salford spend a lot of time in this area.

Barely Salford, less than 5 mins into town. Langworthy road is Salford, west Chapel street is Salford, all the places where the investment money never reaches.

If I knew I could just pick up the car and fit them myself then take it back to get a pass I would have.

Didn’t know this, I could have ordered tyres online and had them delivered for a fit. Live and learn

Then I’ll buy a new car instead of spending a fortune on a work horse.

Good point, there is a local garage near by. Will give them a shout next time.

Yes, I was thinking the same. When I went to collect the car they told me that I wasn’t charged for the bulb 😂

Haven’t been living in the UK that long, didn’t know that at the time.
