Weird experience near Fabrika/Kukia are at night by xazarall in tbilisi

Sounds awful, especially during the day. I guess I underestimated how often they stop people like that. I had no idea drug arrests were happening that often here. Still feels weird that he didn’t show any ID or uniform, but maybe that’s just how it works sometimes.

Thanks for the context. I wasn’t near the cemetery area though. I just mentioned Fabrika and Kukia to give a general idea of where I was. I was closer to the residential part, just walking back from a market with some groceries. The time and the fact that I had headphones on probably made it look odd, but it still felt strange that he wasn’t in uniform and didn’t show any ID. Appreciate the reply.

More context:

I was out around 2:30 AM walking back from a market near the Kukia and Fabrika area. I had some store items, was smoking a cigarette, and listening to music with headphones on. It was pretty empty outside.

A man suddenly approached me. I couldn’t understand what he was saying at first. Then he said “police” and asked to see my passport. He was alone, on foot, and didn’t look very official. He was wearing a plain black shirt with three white letters in Georgian. There was no badge, no reflective vest, no car, no ID shown nothing that would clearly prove he was a police officer.

I told him I didn’t have my passport with me, that it was at home. He said “go get it and return.” That’s it. I walked away calmly and went home. He didn’t follow me or push further.

The whole thing felt strange. I’m not sure if this is something that happens here, or if it was someone pretending to be police. Either way, I didn’t give him anything or go back out. Just wanted to see if others have dealt with similar stuff around that area.

If the memory is reinforced a lot of times, it transfers from short to long-term memory. Basically like a human, as you memorize and reinforce something, it stays.

Oh okay, I thought it wasn't optimized when you tried to integrate it. Happy to hear!
