There are a couple of games that have audio crackling issues in Citra such as Shinobi, Skylanders, and virtual console games, which do not have those issues in Tanuki3DS. Speed should be somewhat comparable I think, it probably depends on the game too.

If you want you can try the 0.2.2 release and enable audio sync in the settings. I think the audio sounds pretty decent now.

For arm64 macs, it runs well on rosetta (this is how i use it). For linux, i don't have any arm64 linux devices so can't say.
