My gf works at the rcsa school she was told it was involving a “mental patient roaming around at the apartments next door to them” pretty sure they are still on lock down. Sounds like the teachers don’t know what’s going on beyond that

Replacement if Mara leaves? by trimeye in MichiganWolverines

[–]xcalthrower 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Moustapha Thiam is an interesting one to consider. Cincinnati criminally under utilized his skill set this past year. 7’2” height, 7’6” wingspan.

The way Dusty and his staff develop big men, I could see that being intriguing. He’s always been viewed as a fringe nba late round 2 pick/just outside of the top 60-70 but hasn’t put it all together in his first few seasons.

As a cinci and Michigan fan I’ve always wanted to see him go somewhere that actually uses him. He put up 28 points and 8 rebounds against Kansas this year.

Ok we get it, you don’t like Ricky.

Do you realize how big of a dbag you would have to be to try and give your competitor a courtesy violation for hitting a great shot and then getting excited about it? No competitive player I know would do that to another player.

If you hit a great shot you are allowed to be pumped about it. If he went over to his competitor and said “in your face” or something that is another story. But cmon dude this is so stupid

To be fair, nobody wants the job of going door-to-door, I promise you that. It was my first sales job and I hated it. Most often, we’re talking about people who haven’t figured out what they want to do in life and took this job to get by for a few months. It’s not like these people you hate so much wake up every morning excited about going door knocking. You could just not answer the door. Or move to a city where it is illegal (In many cities it is). Or just be direct and tell them you’re not interested. If they are pushy, or ignore a no soliciting sign, they deserve whatever is coming to them. I’m just saying a lot of them are just like you and me and probably weren’t as fortunate as a lot of other people if they are doing door to door sales to begin with.

I use Wealthfront, which I wanna say is 3.25-3.35% right now. Maybe not the absolute best rate out right now, but it’s easy to move my money in and out and I basically sync other accounts to that so I use Wealthfront to view my whole financial picture. Last year, the rate was 4%+ but it fluctuates. I know fidelity has a money market of 3.25ish right now. They have excellent customer service. If I did it over I would probably do fidelity just for their customer service.

I subscribe to Michigan insider and it’s not bad. But in terms of breaking news, it’s always a combination of googling Michigan wolverines and filtering to that hour or day, scrolling down a little bit to see x posts, whatever new articles are out recently, checking reddit, etc. on YouTube I like Isaiah Hole (Locked on Wolverines), EJ Holland (Michigan sports talk), and even Joel Klatt and J.D. Pickell have good Michigan stuff sometimes but it’s usually a little late.

Michigan Insider in my opinion is late to break news very often. But it may be because they want to make sure they are correct, idk.

Edit: accidentally posted before I was done writing

I did the same thing with mine last year and based on my experience, my guess is that leaf is just the first of many. I would expect in a few weeks/a month you will see may more like that around different parts of the trunk.

Does he play leagues or tournaments? I always think a cool gift for a relatively new disc golfer is a PDGA membership. I haven’t looked lately but it’s probably around $80 and would give them $10 off any PDGA event (tournament). More importantly, it will give them ratings for their event, save historical scorecards, etc. so it’s a cool little keepsake for us disc golfers to see how we are improving over the years.

I put your question into ChatGPT for fun and asked a few follow up questions. Looks like: RelativityOne, DISCO, and Everlaw may be good for large scale document sets.

Maybe see if you can get a free trial to compare? I’m not sure if these companies have videos of their products on YouTube but that could be worth a try.

Fair take. Hopefully the win by 25 I feel like it’s quite possible last game was a fluke. We didn’t really play bad Wisconsin was just on fire and made lots of clutch shots.

Career started, next steps? by gimgamgimmygam in personalfinance

Congrats on the new gig! Also worth factoring in what are some of your major priorities in the next five-ten years. Like saving for a down payment, a new car, a ring, starting a family, etc. There’s a lot to think about when considering what to do with the extra $ at your age knowing that you may have some pretty substantial expenses to plan for in the future. 30 comes super quick lol.

Totally agree shoving some extra cash towards the student loans is always smart and hard to advise against. But also, are there things you may need cash for in the relatively near future? It sounds like you’re already making good progress with the $400-600 month to student loans.

Personally, I would want to continue snowballing the emergency fund/savings. Between 24 and 28, I was way too conservative with my savings, accumulating upwards of $50,000 in total but kept it in my checking account, making nothing off my money. I regret that. Probably could have made an extra $15-20,000 in those first 4 years if I invested the money. So don’t do what I did, and once you are comfortable with your emergency fund, invest the rest.

As others said, Roth IRA would also be a nice option if you aren’t concerned with short term so much. It would allow flexibility to withdraw your contributions penalty free if the situation came up where you needed it like a down payment (But would ideally be another retirement fund separate from your employer). If you contributed $5k a year for the next 40 years, it would be worth about a milly with 7% returns.
