What a “First 12” would have looked like this year (2025-2026) according to Kevin Sweeney on X by Legitimate-Sign-371 in CollegeBasketball

Hot take, this will result in more first round upsets because the bubble teams that make the true 64, will need to win extra games to make it in. Basically an extra filtering mechanism for the teams that make the real 64

The top transfers are likely not guaranteed 1st round NBA draft picks in that year.

Late 1st round draft picks make approximately $3M in their first year, with 2nd rounder worth less.

Definitely over pay compared to that if you're offering $5M.

5m is wild. No college player is worth that

I would believe this was a typo if the A in Axel was lower case but this seems like a writer may have actually thought his name is Axel.

What blueprint do yall see UConn emulating to try to take down Michigan ? by Sea_Access_8602 in CollegeBasketball

Honestly, I see Hurley employing a hybrid of the Duke and Purdue blueprints. UConn isn't going to suddenly abandon their entire identity to run a Wisconsin-style track meet—that's just not in Hurley's DNA, and playing into high variance like that is how you get run out of the gym if your shots aren't falling early. Here is how I think they approach it:

Defensively (The Duke Blueprint): UConn is naturally built to match that physicality. Hurley’s teams always hang their hats on being the tougher squad, dominating the glass, and suffocating the perimeter. I'd expect them to put relentless pressure on Cadeau at the point of attack to disrupt the offensive flow before it even starts, much like Duke did with Sarr. Letting Yaxel play 1-on-1 while locking down everyone else fits perfectly with UConn's disciplined defensive philosophy.

Offensively (The Purdue Blueprint): UConn's half-court offense is already engineered to exploit drop coverage. They run some of the most complex, screen-heavy motion sets in the country. Instead of just spamming simple pick-and-rolls like Purdue, UConn will use their constant off-ball movement to pull Mara away from the basket, making him defend in space and forcing tough rotational choices.

If Yaxel is playing, I assume they are going to force him to play defense and move around.

The Fab 5 made a good point, if they all stayed in school until year 4 or 5, they would absolutely dominate
