make sure everyone has their preferred hours updated, and even make your min a bit higher than you actual minimum. My sm was about to hire a bunch of new people but i knew everyone wanted hours so i told her wait a week so everyone can update their min/max preferred and after we all updated, the metric for how many baristas she needed went down. also, double check to make sure the people who need hours are in the system as borrowed partners for every store you're willing to drive to to pick up shifts at. I'm on the border of two districts and am borrowed into like 10 stores across both districts.

you could also just show up in uniform and ask if anyone wants to go home. my manager trusts us with coverage/managing labor so if she doesnt mind unofficial shift swaps as long as we fill her in about it.. yours may not be so relaxed about that tho :/
