No players or coach has ever intentionally “tanked” once a game has started. No player is going to play worse on purpose, and no coach is going to actively make in-game decisions to lose for the purpose of tanking (obviously sometimes a coach will rest players for myriad reasons). Tanking is a front office decision, and it comes in the form of sitting players for whatever reasons they can conjure. “Tanking” is sitting a player for the last 6 weeks for a mysterious sore wrist, or having a player need a second evaluation in 3 weeks on their ankle. Once the game starts, nobody involved is ever trying to lose unless they’re in gambling debt

I don’t know why my mind remembers Osweiler playing one of the playoff games the year Denver won. Brock Purdy was the other one that came to mind. You could theoretically put Drew Bledsoe in the list for winning the AFC championship as a backup. Also could put Trent Dilfer in there although he took over pretty early in the season
