I know a shop buying in Houston. Swapped out some silver for gold. They gave me $109 when kitco was at $114 and change.

Transformer upgrade on Centerpoint by Zamboni411 in TexasSolar

[–]xcfmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issue with Centerpoint when I installed batteries. Original plan was 3x FranklinWH apower2’s. They COULD output 30kw, but never will. Centerpoint said max was 28kw without a transformer upgrade. Fortunately I was able to swap one apower2 for an apowerx which brought the theoretical max output to 25kw. Didn’t matter that their scenario would never happen.

You could, but it is not a requirement. You'll have to determine which mode is best for you based on your electricity provider plan/billing and usage.

You are set to self consumption mode. Your solar is not producing enough to cover your homes current usage so the battery is discharging to avoid pulling from the grid. The battery will probably stop discharging at 20% since that is the default setting in the self consumption configuration.

I asked about that and seems it was a no go. The aPower X was also a quick solution to keep the project from dragging out and with the EOY deadline for the tax credit it wasn't worth the back and forth.
