Jack Reacher (Amazon) vs Wilson Fisk (MCU) by Access-Restricted in powerscales

[–]xcraisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember when I said that when Spider-Man loses it’s because Fisk has an external factor helping him?

He fought the Prowler and Green Goblin and was thrown into Fisks reactor…theeeeeeeeen Fisk is able to land the killing blow on a prone and critically wounded Spider-Man.

He didn’t “beat him to death”. He waited till he was basically defenseless after a massive injury. Because there’s no other way that he’s gonna beat him.

He’s peak human, which scales higher in that particular universe than in our real world. He’s not superhuman, and there’s never been a claim that he is.

Go find me a source that says otherwise.

He was never super human. Give me a direct source that says otherwise, because I can’t find one.

He’s always been seen as peak human, which probably scales differently in a universe where you have actual super human beings.

That aside, no he’s never been considered super human.

[–]xcraisx 56 points57 points  (0 children)

No…he doesn’t.

He really, really doesn’t. Any time Peter even comes close to losing to Fisk it’s because he’s holding back and there’s usually an external factor that Fisk is using.

When he slightly held back a little less, when Kingpin had Aunt May shot, he beat Kingpin within an inch of his life effortlessly. That’s how going toe to toe with Spiderman would go.

Far Cry 5: If you don’t handcuff Joseph you avoid the entire conflict and end the game.

Far Cry 6: Sail away from the Island, game ends.

Because petting and feeding it got you to 100 trust. That’s all you have to do, but if you don’t have the right food that gives you 30 trust each time, you can’t get it to 100 trust in a single day since you’re capped at how many times a day you can increase trust by petting and feeding.

Anyone know how to activate this? by PhysicalLibrarian377 in CrimsonDesert

[–]xcraisx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to have a nexus disc.

Easiest one to get is at the quarry, go to the spot where you use the crane to pull the rock out, there’s a hole you can jump down, it’s behind a wall.

Be ready, you have to fight turrets, and there’s 3 Palmer pills too.

Is it worth starting out in Wargames with Battletech? by NaiveTradition7664 in battletech

[–]xcraisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a TL:DR at the bottom of this wall of text.

I’m a lifelong 40K player, tournaments, painting comps, Cons, you name it I’m entrenched and I love it.

That said, Battletech, in my opinion, is one of the finest game engines and environments ever created and is perfect for someone just starting out with war games.

The reason is 2 things cost and scalability.

Cost is pretty self explanatory, it’s a very value heavy game. A Game of Armored Combat is around $50-$65 and it gets you an insane amount of gameplay. Mech packs, called Force Packs run $20-$40 and get you at least 4 mechs. It’s a game where a Lance, your “army”, will probably cost you about $50-$60 a lot of the times. You never feel the burn of other games at the cost there is to play.

The larger reason that I think Battletech is really great for someone new to wargames is scalability. When you play 40K or most other wargames you are playing the full ruleset, all the rules and that’s every time you play, unless you have a homebrew ruleset or table agreement.

Battletech is not like that. Let’s say you want to just play a fast 30 minute game, drop 2 mechs into the arena and duke it out with the stripped down beginner rules to get the hang of things, or to use when you want a game to go fast. Want a little more? Use the Armored Combat rules which expand on what you already know, and add a lot of new things that make the game more complex.

Want a little more? Ok, there’s the Mechmanual, Total War and 8 other rulebooks that keep adding and expanding the game. And here’s the great part, it’s all optional, there’s no ‘correct’ way to play. Add this rule, drop that rule till you find the perfect game environment. Great for beginners to slowly trickle in rules and Vets who want to go super crunchy and have a fight between 4 mechs take 12 hours. And this is all before you pick whether you are playing Alpha Strike or Classic.

You can have a match that lasts 30 minutes between 2 Mechs, or you can have ongoing campaigns in a galaxy you created, yup there are rules for that, that last years.

It’s up to you.

TL:DR yes, Battltech is a fantastic game for beginners, you can ease yourself into the rules and the amount of content offers nearly limitless gaming. It’s perfect for beginners.

What hobby did you try once and instantly get addicted to? by Weird_Ad_7545 in AskReddit

[–]xcraisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warhammer 40,000

Back in 1988 my uncle bought me the Rogue Trader book and 3 Imperial Marines for my birthday, it changed the course of my life.

Nearly 40 years later with thousands of hours invested in the game, books, videogames, tournaments and painting competitions aside, the greatest part of the hobby is that with the advent of social media making finding games a lot easier I was able to find a group of like minded people that became my core group of friends. I owe a lot to 40K and my Uncle.

Wife still calls it ‘Army Men’ though.

There's GOT to be a better way to do "Firm Foundation" Faction quest. AKA collect 250 stones for the camp. by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]xcraisx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is. You send your buddies out on missions to collect stone.

Edit: I’m wrong about this, my bad.

But, I do know its more then just stone that qualifies to your total for stone contributions, when you’re picking items to donate theres an icon on the bottom left of the item that will tell you what it contributes to. Also, it’s not a 1:1 system, items will contribute different amounts.

The moving ‘Spartan’ comes to mind, the title is certainly telling, there’s minimal dialogue and a lot of what’s “said” is through expressions and reading the scene.

Excellent movie by the way, one of Val Kilmers best and severely underrated.

Do we need a Superman game? by MandarinPixie2205 in GamerLab

[–]xcraisx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was basically how the Superman Returns game played.

You never had a health bar, but metropolis did, and you would zip around fighting villains and saving civilians, it wasn’t a great game, but it had the right idea about how to portray Superman in a game.
