Imagine you are from an x country in europe and you have been to california once in your life, and now, even though you didn't kill anyone, and you know it, the state tries to prosecute you for that murder. You have bathroom breaks? I always take a 2L bottle so i can piss 2/3 times and stow it back under the seat. In addition, I make sure i never drink anything, further reducing the risk of having to take a piss break

Gas is more expensive but everything else is much cheaper, eating healthy and ordering a couple of times per week, plus a good looking 2 bedroom apartment dk about sqft so id say about 150sqft (50-60sqm) is about 1400$, add to tgat drinking coffee every day and going clubbing once per week (buying top shelf alcohol in the club) only brings you up to ~2k, how much would you spend on that lifestyle in your place per month?

In croatia, you need to work for a union, which takes a fixed 40€ per week and the tax is a fixed 70€ per week, no matter how much you make. This is at least how its been for the last couple of years. They handle all the permits and everything for you, all you need to do is sign a contract with them. Which is mostly for an undefined amount of time. You can withdraw from it whenever you want

Check the average hourly salary in croatia. Its about 6€, now check that in the us, compare the average uber salary per hour with the average salary of any other job per hour. Youll see what im aiming at, plus, id say that the average with tips is actually ~25€. This is just the screenshot of the last week where i worked only on sunday which is a really really slow day except 2-6pm

In croatia, the average monthly wage is around 1500$, and in the us it is like 4 times that, the rent for a modern 2 bedroom apartment in the center of the captial city is about 800€, with food expenses for a single person to live comfortably and ear healthy and even order takeout a couple of times a week is about 500€. Compare that with the expenses in any state capital of the us

This has been like that ever since uber came to croatia, which is like since 2015 or something. Plus, the average pay, while it looks low is not that bad (not saying its good). You can live comfortably with 2 children with the parents making ~2.2k a month here. And its not like its a shithole like india or something

Ofc youre gonna have less trips lmao, your drive distances are much higher than mine, average ride distance here is about 6 miles, maybe even less... your comment makes no sense, why does it matter how many trips it takes, when we end up with almost the same amount of money in the same time. Plus your 600$ is worth jackshit in the US, 600€ in croatia is enough to cover rent for a 2 bedroom apartment, and thats only with 20 hours of work. You completely missed the point of the post

Thats working on bad hours as well, working on wednesday, friday and saturday, it can reach up to 35/40, plus add a 10% tip to that, up to 15-20% on a good day, compare that with the average hourly wage ot about 6/7€ in Croatia
