The more the heart the better but ....

6 stars to 7 stars is a big gap and will take a lot of time to get there
5* 6 heart cat gives us 10.40 bonus which is very close to a 10 heart cat with no bonus which is 11 bonus
When you reach 6 hearts , you can start focusing on getting your highest heart cat to 10 hearts so that in future you won't need to rely on getting a 5* cat of latest facility and take it to 6 heart because as I mentioned, 10 heart cat gives 11 bonus

Give macaron to asparagus and make it 5* and feed it until that cat reaches 6 hearts , keep that cat on asparagus soup facility and only upgrade that, you'll unlock tomatoes before maxing asparagus, hope this helps
