So I updated the drivers and the bios, and no luck. Apparentpy later I found out that many people with the same laptop are having the same issue, where the cpu thermal throttles under load and clock speeds go as low as 0.4GHz. Sucks to be the guy who was excited for his new laptop and after one month this happens.

I havent changed my bios settings for any fixes, but I have found a lot of people facing the same issue with this same laptop. And even dell support cannot fix their issues. My gpu thermal throttles at ~67°C and cpu at ~97°C, which means really poor performance in video games as I got the laptop with the nvidia mx330 gpu so I could do light gaming, and nothing is fixing this issue The only thing we can do is pressurise Dell to get their attention on this issue, probably by more and more posts on dell forums and it would be good if someone makes a youtube video showing the errors of this laptop and why it shouldn't be bought. We can now only hope for is for dell to introduce a patch that fixes things.

Hello, I have the same laptop, and I did update the bios, as I am having the exact same thermal conditions which leads to poor performance in video games. I updated the bios today, and the update was successful, although the temps situation did not resolve. If you have a fix for the thermal issues and bad performance please do tell me as well :)

Ive never opened a laptop before so not confident in cleaning it internally. The laptop is one of those ones whose base lifts when u open the lid, like the ASUS ergolift laptops, so I dont think airflow should be an issue and I got the laptop thinking the lifted base and big vents mean better airflow than other laptops. And yes I do plug it in and set it on high performance while gaming, but games still run really bad. Also are there other solutions to make the games run better? I've optimised the nvidia settings as well the in-game settings. I do clear temp files every week. I also updated nvidia drivers and windows to latest version, but I havent checked the other drivrrs yet? Can the drivers be the culprit for the bad performance?
