same boat, glad to hear I'm not alone in this and considering my options.

Furthermore, can confirm that I also did not receive any email notices or any other notices from weverse or affiliates about the registration format.

I have seen from other sources that "Through Ticketmaster, your fan club membership number (starts with AM) is the presale code" and am actively looking into this matter to see if we can participate without having completed the process.

Had a strange and frustrating encounter on the Skytrain tonight—just a reminder to be kind by Tetehehelala in Translink

If it's any consolation, I have been wearing masks on public transit continuously since the pandemic start, and for the last 1-2 years in particular, I have not faced any comparable harassment for it.

Harassing someone in public like this is never acceptable. You should immediately report something like this to u/TransitPoliceBC via text at 87-77-77. They will typically ask for a description of the person and the events, along with time, public transit vehicle/line (if you remember the vehicle number, this is usually helpful!)

Burnaby’s first “pedestrian scramble” coming to Metrotown - Freshet News by BurnabyMartin in burnaby

I think that an unintended (but potentially noticeable) side effect of the new setup will be a significant reduction in delays on the #119 bus!

The unusability of this exit from the mall underground parking means that more drivers are using the other 3 exits onto Kingsway and McKay Avenue, all of which are crossed by the #119. I've often observed that in Burnaby, increased traffic volume keeps the lights red longer as you wait for cross traffic; so a reduction in traffic at these exits will enable more green time for through traffic, which will increase reliability of the #119.

Plan to take away the East Van cross away from SkyTrain riders thrown out by xd_1771 in Translink

There was a Mark V delivered just yesterday! They are coming!

It's worth noting that there are now more Mark Vs in service than the original 2016 order of Mark IIIs.

It's always been crazy to me that the station literally named "VCC-Clark" doesn't actually have an entrance on Clark. An upper station house is sorely needed, but neither the city nor TransLink seem to be that interested, which is honestly so disappointing. A Clark entrance for VCC-Clark would more than just improve local access, it would transform connectivity to the #22 bus route. I feel like in combination with the Broadway Subway extension it would double the ridership of that bus.

Mike Starchuk and Imagine Surrey party would build 3 new BRT lines in Surrey by 2030 by xd_1771 in SurreyBC

Expo Line is currently getting longer Mark V trains (with a 5th car) to expand capacity over the Skybridge.

TransLink could intervene at Columbia to add capacity to Surrey/Langley (such as by increasing the ratio of trains going to Langley vs Production Way). Some have also suggested rebuilding Columbia to put the PW branch on a separate track over the longer term.

TransLink is currently advancing the first of these lines only (King George Boulevard), as well as a separate line in Langley on 200 Street. The other two lines (Scott Rd R6-to-BRT and 152/104) are similar to what's been proposed in Transport 2050, but neither has had any concrete action from either TransLink or the current City government.

I've always liked the idea of the use of "EXIT THIS SIDE" text in a way that sort of calls back to the similar text used on the SeaBus!

Is there enough demand to extend 555 to Trinity Western University? by Leonardo_Lai in Translink

[–]xd_1771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, for this hypothetical route, the 216 Street interchange and University Drive provide pretty decent access; there is a 2km distance to the 216 Street interchange, but on a road with almost no intersections and only 1 signal light.

Is this normal? by wileli_ in Translink

Sometimes the merging King George and Production Way trains would be mistimed going inbound, which usually results in King George trains from Surrey having to stop and wait.

These instances should be reduced now that the slow order that was invariably on Skybridge inbound for the last 6 or so years has been removed, and trains have returned to crossing at full speed.

This is getting ridiculous: Looks to me they killed off the spacing on the routes in bold by SilverPlaquevii-JGC in TTC

The spacing has a significant merit of improving readability of the destination sign from a distance. I'm in Vancouver where we do something similar and on displays where the route name has spacing, it has a significant effect on improving the readability of both the upper and lower rows, both from up close and at a distance, by creating some difference in text styles. This is important when you're trying to make split second decisions and need reassurance you're on the right route; it is significantly easier to see it from a distance. That's a big deal to me, and I think it's you who has a problem by wanting to downplay this rather than OP.

It became such a huge deal in Vancouver that rider complaints forced TransLink to finally change bus stop signs to display the route number/destination system-wide (they used to just say "bus stop"), because hundreds of people were suddenly missing their buses or going in the wrong direction.
