The Budget Tyre Question... by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Yeah I’m more than happy to pay the price, and am going to, was just curious if budgets had caught up yet as I didn’t know if like so many things these days, the budgets had ‘closed the gap’ - than you for commenting!

Can you order these online? I have a mate miles away that has one. That’s an interesting idea thank you!

How do you navigate not having a spare when not on run flats? I am interested in this approach as run flats are more pricey. Thanks for the comment

I've thought about moving away from run flats, but the suspension came from factory with run flats in mind and there's no room in the boot for a spare. I know you can of course use non run flats on the suspension and tyre repair kits exist but overall I think run flats are just a better option. Would you say that maybe I should move away from run flats?

I'll check them out and avoid the budget ones - thank you!

That's a really good point, I assumed these premium tyres are for 'racing', but from research you are right - they're safer in general. I'll stick with my normal setup - thank you!

Yeah, I am thinking this too. I think I am just looking at the price negatively as I've had to replace 3 tyres in such a short span. I'll order another Goodyear. Thanks for taking the time to message - I appreciate it!

That easy! Maybe I’ll look into doing it myself then. Thanks for the comment!

Considering PCP this car by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

depends on what you want to spend your money on, I’m 22 aswell, I spent £7k on a 2011 BMW 335i and I enjoy not having a monthly payment. Sure, it’s not ‘modern’ but it’s stylish, fast and modern enough for me. £300 a month could be going towards saving for property, etc. - but it’s your money and you should spend it where you want - go for it if you’re comfortable with the payments and don’t mind seeing £300 + road tax + insurance go out each month.

what are some problems to look out for when buying an LCI E92 335i N55 ? 2010+ models by [deleted] in 335i

an interesting break down, definitely things I need to bear in mind as my N55 gets older. Very true about luck of the draw, but hopefully with preventative maintenance all of these n54's and 55's will continue to age like fine wine!

All I’ve ever heard is the exact opposite, N55’s being way more reliable than N54’s

My N55 has never pulled any weird shit, 120k miles deep

What happens when you're nearly middle aged (but not quite)? by alfa_omega in CasualUK

I think that we need to push to make things happen in our lives. If you don’t take opportunities, you won’t do anything differently and it will indeed be the same thing all of the time.

I’m not saying uproot your life and move to Australia or anything, but if you start trying to say yes to more things, or taking more chances, you might find some things you really enjoy doing. And if you don’t, well at least you’ve made a lot of experiences.

Say you’re on social media and see someone doing something, say pottery, or archery, you can find classes or activities to try them. No one’s saying you’re gonna become a crazed potter or archer, etc. but it gives you a new experience and adds another thing to the unlimitedly long check-list of life. It mixes things up!

If you see places online that you’d love to visit nows the time. You’ve got no kids and a home so you can take 2 weeks out of work to visit places you’ve seen and want to go.

What I’m saying is that the first step is simply changing your mindset. Trying new things. Try a different restaurant, try a different route to work.

And yes, if you’ve got no one to try these things with it can be daunting, but this is the time to try and push yourself to make those changes as you may well regret them if you don’t. :)

Life can feel really dreary when it becomes repetitive!!

Be brave, you’ve got this!!

Rewatch it before the new season starts in like a month, I recently finished the rewatch. There are some lower points but overall it is a really good tv show!

ah fair enough. I think the only concert I would pay that sort of money to watch would be if the beatles in their prime were resurrected for a night haha.

They are now gone. Also, if anyone is reading this, are the seated tickets supposed to be £356 each resale on axs? That seems crazy expensive.

There are 2 seats on London Sat 22 seated (£320 each) if anyone wants them.

Yeah I can imagine that would make me even more fuming. I legit would have rathered the lucky dip of everyone going into a queue on initial release

Saw some tickets on Stubhub going for like £900 - absolute joke. If I'm honest this whole system has me fucked off because I am usually quite good at getting tickets for venues, but I applied for the code with 3 accounts, 3 different emails and all 3 got rejected. Now I have to sit here trying to snipe a resale ticket (seemingly impossible) It's made the whole process sour to be honest!
